Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Goes deep in win
Perdomo went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 7-5 win over the Red Sox.
Perdomo put an end to a successful road trip (.324/.390/.525) by popping his third home run of the season in the ninth inning to give Arizona extra cushion. He's belted all three of his homers during August, which has been the shortstop's best month. Perdomo is batting .325/.400/.525 with 10 extra-base hits, 10 RBI, four steals and seven runs scored over 22 August contests.

Pirates' Termarr Johnson: Moves up to Double-A
The Pirates promoted Johnson from High-A Greensboro to Double-A Altoona on Sunday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
The 20-year-old will move up to Altoona after slashing .236/.369/.382 with 13 home runs and 20 stolen bases across 489 plate appearances with Greensboro. Xavier Edwards SS | MIA
Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Remaining on bench Sunday
Edwards (back) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.
The 25-year-old will sit for the second straight game after he exited Friday's contest due to lower-back discomfort. Edwards had medical imaging on his back come back negative Saturday, and he took a step forward prior to Sunday's game by taking some swings and doing some throwing, per Noah Berger of ElExtraBase.com. He can be considered day-to-day heading into the Marlins' upcoming four-game series in Colorado that begins Monday.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Big performance in return to lineup
Rojas went 2-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's extra-inning loss to the Rays.
Rojas drove home Max Muncy with a base hit in the bottom of the fifth to bring the Dodgers within one run of Tampa Bay before coming around to score himself on a two-run homer from Shohei Ohtani. The shortstop then took Joel Kuhnel deep in his next trip to the plate to extend his team's lead to two runs, and he added a third run in the bottom of the 10th as Los Angeles narrowly lost in extra innings. Rojas has now hit safely in 12 of 13 games this month, during which he's batting .356 (16-for-45) with seven RBI and eight runs scored. Saturday's long ball was his fourth of the campaign and his first since June 14 against the Royals.

Kevin Newman SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Kevin Newman: Losing work to Guillorme
Newman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Newman finds himself on the bench for the fourth game in a row, with all of those absences coming against right-handed pitching. He looks set to occupy the short side of a platoon at second base with Luis Guillorme while Ketel Marte (ankle) is on the injured list.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Stays hot with two homers
Lindor went 2-for-5 with two homers and five RBI in Saturday's win over the Padres.
Lindor jumped on a hanging sweeper from Michael King with two outs in the top of the fourth and sent it into the stands for a grand slam, putting the Mets up 5-0. The shortstop wasn't done there, however, launching another home run off Yuki Matsui to lead off the seventh to give him his fifth long ball this month. It was Lindor's fourth multi-home run game of the campaign while his five RBI on the night marked a season high. He's already recorded 12 multi-hit performances this month, including five over his last eight games.

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Two hits, stolen base in loss

The shortstop added another leadoff single in the fifth but was again left stranded as Washington's offense failed to get much going in the contest. It marked Abrams' second multi-hit effort in his last five starts, though he's still batting just .197 on the month with three homers, eight RBI and eight runs scored.
