  • Aidan Miller SS | PHI

Phillies' Aidan Miller: Climbs to Triple-A

The Phillies promoted Miller from Double-A Reading to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

After earning a pair of promotions in 2024, Miller had up to this point spent the entire 2025 season at Reading, slashing .259/.382/.427 with 13 home runs, 52 stolen bases and a 14.9 percent walk rate over 489 plate appearances. Miller had opened September by going 8-for-19 with two extra-base hits, two stolen bases and a 9:4 K:BB in six games, with his hot start to the month convincing the Phillies that he was ready for a stiffer test. Though Miller is likely to remain at the Triple-A level for the rest of the season, a call-up to the big leagues can't be completely discounted if the hamstring strain that star shortstop Trea Turner suffered in Sunday's loss to the Marlins proves to be a long-term concern. For now, Edmundo Sosa would appear to be the top choice to step in as the Phillies' everyday shortstop if Turner is forced to go on the injured list.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Giants' Willy Adames: Tallies ninth stolen base in loss

Adames went 0-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Cardinals.

Adames failed to record a hit but reached base on two free passes and stole second in the fourth inning. The shortstop has struggled following a hot end to August, going hitless in three of his last five outings. Overall, he's slashing .228/.317/.425 with 86 runs scored, 78 RBI, 27 long balls and nine stolen bases across 603 plate appearances in 143 games this season.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Set for MRI on Monday

Turner is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his right hamstring in Philadelphia on Monday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The MRI will shed more light on the grade of the hamstring strain that Turner sustained in the seventh inning of Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Marlins. Even if Turner receives a positive prognosis following the MRI and avoids a stint on the injured list, he's still likely to be held out of the lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Mets. Edmundo Sosa started at shortstop when Turner sat out for rest purposes in Saturday's 4-2 win over Miami, so Sosa will presumably be the top choice to replace Turner in the lineup Monday.

  • Otto Lopez SS | MIA

Marlins' Otto Lopez: Goes deep twice in win

Lopez went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Sunday's 5-4 victory over the Phillies.

The Marlins shortstop batted cleanup and produced his first career multi-homer performance in this contest. Lopez slugged a 424-foot, three-run homer off Philadelphia starter Taijuan Walker in the first before returning in the seventh to launch a 417-foot solo shot off reliever Jose Alvarado. The 26-year-old has been hot over his last 17 games dating back to Aug. 18, batting .306 (19-for-62) with three homers, 14 RBI and eight runs scored.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Dealing with hamstring strain

Turner was removed from Sunday's game against the Marlins due to a right hamstring strain, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The veteran shortstop suffered the injury during the seventh inning while running to first base, and he exited the contest after reaching on an error. Turner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run prior to departing, but his availability for the playoff push is now in question due to the injury.

  • Ryan Ritter SS | COL

Rockies' Ryan Ritter: Exiting lineup Sunday

Ritter is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

After going 4-for-20 with a 0:8 K:BB while starting in six of the last seven games, Ritter will hit the bench Sunday. Tyler Freeman will cover second base in Ritter's stead.

  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Rips three hits in loss

Tovar went 3-for-3 with a walk in Saturday's 10-8 loss to the Padres.

Tovar's got a hot bat -- he's logged four multi-hit efforts while going 12-for-33 (.364) over his last nine games. While he's posted just two extra-base hits and two RBI in that span, the consistency at the plate is encouraging, though most of the hot streak has come at home. He's up to a .272/.314/.434 slash line with eight homers, 24 RBI, 39 runs scored and four stolen bases over 75 contests. Like many Rockies hitters, he's had some extreme home-road splits this year with a .947 OPS at Coors Field and a .532 OPS away from home.

  • Mason McCoy SS | SD

Padres' Mason McCoy: Snags steal in win

McCoy went 1-for-4 with a walk, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 10-8 win over the Rockies.

McCoy started for just the second time in eight games since he was called up from Triple-A El Paso in late August. The infielder hasn't been able to supplant Jose Iglesias in the starting lineup on a regular basis, though McCoy has drawn both of his starts against right-handed pitchers despite being a righty hitter. His hit Saturday was his first of the season to go along with a 1:6 BB:K over 13 plate appearances, so he hasn't shown enough yet to push for a regular role.

  • Luke Williams SS | ATL

    Braves' Luke Williams: Clears waivers

Williams cleared waivers Saturday and was sent outright to Triple-A Gwinnett, Lindsay Crosby of AthlonSports.com reports.

Williams will officially remain in the Atlanta organization after being designated for assignment Thursday. The 29-year-old utility man has been a liability at the plate in both MLB and Triple-A this year, though his versatility could become valuable if Atlanta's depth is tested down the stretch.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Absent from lineup

Turner isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins.

Turner has tallied 13 hits over his last six games and recorded at least one hit in 22 of his last 24 contests. He'll receive a rare day off Saturday while Edmundo Sosa starts at shortstop and bats eighth.
