Jon Berti 3B | CHC
Marlins' Jon Berti: Descends in order
Berti will start at third base and bat seventh in Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Berti received the leadoff nod in the Marlins' last game Sunday against the Giants, but that's only because Jazz Chisholm was getting the day off. Even though he'll drop in the lineup Tuesday with Chisholm back in action, Berti looks like he'll continue to hold down a regular role at third base until either Joey Wendle (hamstring) or Brian Anderson (back) returns from the injured list. While starting each of the Marlins' first six games of June, Berti went 8-for-22 with two doubles, four runs, two RBI and three stolen bases.

Johan Camargo SS | SF
Phillies' Johan Camargo: Shut down with knee strain
The Phillies placed Camargo on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right knee strain.
Camargo had started in seven of the Phillies' last eight games, but his move to the IL should clear the way for rookie Bryson Stott to handle an everyday role at second base. Even while playing on at least a semi-regular basis all season before picking up the injury, Camargo has produced modest counting stats (three home runs, no stolen bases, 15 RBI and eight runs) over 143 plate appearances.

Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA
Nationals' Ehire Adrianza: Reinstated from IL
Adrianza (quadriceps) was activated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Adrianza was reinstated from the 60-day injured list following a quadriceps injury he suffered in late March. He will return to the major-league roster Tuesday after completing a two-week rehab assignment with Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Rochester. Lucius Fox was optioned to Rochester in a corresponding move Tuesday. Adrianza is set for his debut after he signed a one-year contract with the Nationals this past offseason following a 2021 season in which he batted .247 with five homers, 28 RBI and 32 runs in 109 games with the Braves.

Diego Castillo 3B | MIN
Pirates' Diego Castillo: Picking up work at shortstop
Castillo will start at shortstop and bat fifth in Tuesday's game against the Tigers.
With Pittsburgh sending Rodolfo Castro back to Triple-A Indianapolis over the weekend, Castillo looks primed to get a look as the team's everyday shortstop. Though he enjoyed a hot start to the season, Castillo has been mired in a deep slump at the plate since the beginning of May, slashing .197/.256/.310 in 26 games dating back to the start of last month.

Tucupita Marcano 2B | SD
Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Sitting against lefty
Marcano is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.
With a tough southpaw (Tarik Skubal) on the hill for the opposition, the lefty-hitting Marcano will take a seat following an eight-game stretch in which he went 6-for-25 with two home runs, four walks, a double and a stolen base. Josh VanMeter's (finger) recent placement on the injured list creates a path for Marcano to play often at second base, though he may end up settling into a platoon with the righty-hitting Yu Chang, who picks up the start at the keystone Tuesday.

Kahlil Watson SS | CLE
Marlins' Kahlil Watson: Whiffing at alarming rate
Watson is hitting .218/.264/.376 with six homers, nine steals and a 9:76 BB:K through 41 games for Single-A Jupiter.
Yes, you read that right -- he's struck out 76 times in 41 games and 178 plate appearances. That's a brutal 42.7 percent clip. Watson has been even worse recently, having whiffed 33 times in his last 69 at-bats over a span of 17 games; he's collected just 11 hits (10 singles and a double) in that span. A first-round pick last year, Watson is still only 19 and has plenty of time to get right in the minors, but his hot first few games of the year feel like a distant memory now.

Jose Barrero SS | BAL
Reds' Jose Barrero: Reinstated, sent down Monday
Barrero (hand) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Monday.
Barrero's rehab assignment was scheduled to end Wednesday, and he'll remain in Louisville now that he's back to full health. The 24-year-old appeared in 14 games during his rehab assignment and slashed .204/.316/.449 with three homers, six runs, six RBI and a stolen base. He'll be a candidate to provide utility depth for the major-league club at some point later in the year.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Nationals' Dee Strange-Gordon: Returns from paternity leave
The Nationals activated Strange-Gordon (personal) from the paternity list Monday.
Victor Arano (knee) was placed on the 15-day injured list to open up room on the 26-man active roster for Strange-Gordon, who was away from the team over the weekend to observe the birth of his child. Now that he's back with the Nationals, Strange-Gordon is expected to settle back into a utility role.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Dodgers' Trea Turner: Notches homer, steal
Turner went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in a 5-4 loss to the Mets on Sunday.
Turner opened the scoring with a two-run home run off New York starter Trevor Williams in the first inning, singled in the third and stole second after reaching on catcher's interference in the 10th. The long ball was the 28-year-old's sixth while the theft was his 11th, pulling him into a tie with Cedric Mullins for fifth in the league. Turner is now slashing .299/.352/.469 with 26 runs and 44 RBI in 54 games.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Dodgers' Trea Turner: Hit streak comes to end
Turner went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Saturday in a loss to the Mets.
Turner entered the contest having notched at least one hit in 26 straight contests, but he was unable to extend that streak Saturday. The shortstop was on deck with two outs in the ninth inning but was unable to get a fifth at-bat when Freddie Freeman grounded out to end the game. During the streak -- the longest in the majors this season -- Turner slashed .350/.404/.573 with four homers, 22 RBI, 14 runs and six stolen bases.
