  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Logs XBH in loss

Perdomo started at second base and went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Mets.

Perdomo started in place of Ketel Marte, who was given a planned day off, and rocketed an extra-base hit for the third consecutive game. Marte has bben slow out of the gate, batting just .169 (10-for-59) with worrisome Statcast metrics, but there are no plans to give Perdomo more than an occasional fill-in start at second. However, that the rookie is 5-for-10 over the last three games suggests he's moving past the 1-for-22 he posted over the first 11 contests. If the bat remains hot, manager Torey Lovullo will need to find opportunities for him, most likely at third base.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Back in lineup

Ahmed started at shortstop and went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a double in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Mets.

As part of a plan to ease Ahmed back into the lineup after missing the start of the season with a shoulder injury, he returned to the lineup Sunday after a planned off-day Saturday. After going hitless in his debut Friday, the 32-year-old infielder collected his first hits of the season Sunday. It's unclear how long the Diamondbacks plan to ease the shortstop back into a more consistent presence in the lineup.

  • Phillies' Johan Camargo: Fills in at shortstop for Gregorius

Camargo will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Brewers, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Alec Bohm appears to have seized hold of the everyday role at third base, but Camargo has still been able to pick up playing time in the infield thanks to Didi Gregorius' (hand) ongoing absence. He'll man shortstop for the fourth game in a row, though Camargo could see his opportunities dwindle while moving back into a utility role in the coming days if Gregorius is able to avoid a trip to the injured list.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Padres' CJ Abrams: Sitting versus southpaw

Abrams is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Abrams will once again head to the bench against a left-handed starting pitcher. Ha-Seong Kim will start at shortstop with Clayton Kershaw on the mound for Los Angeles.

  • Diego Castillo 3B | MIN

Pirates' Diego Castillo: Bats leadoff, manning right field

Castillo will bat leadoff and start in right field Sunday against the Cubs.

The 24-year-old will start in right field the second straight game and could see increased time there moving forward after the Pirates designated Anthony Alford for assignment. It's also the first time batting leadoff for Castillo, who has a .250/.250/.361 slash line with one home run, three RBI and four runs through his first 10 big-league games.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Poaches playing time from Dickerson

Arcia will start in left field and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Marlins, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

With a southpaw on the mound for Miami in Jesus Luzardo, the righty-hitting Arcia will stay in the lineup over the lefty-hitting Alex Dickerson, but Arcia may have usurped Dickerson as Atlanta's preferred option against right-handers, too. Arcia, who is picking up his fifth start in six games Sunday, enters the series finale with a .292/.379/.375 slash line across 29 plate appearances. Meanwhile, Dickerson has turned in a measly .379 OPS through 28 trips to the plate this season.

  • Paul DeJong SS | NYY

Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Not starting Sunday

DeJong is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

DeJong is 2-for-23 with 10 strikeouts in his past eight contests and will take a seat for the second time in the past three games. Edmundo Sosa will start at shortstop Sunday and could receive more opportunities if DeJong continues to struggle offensively. According to Katie Woo of The Athletic, DeJong also won't start Monday against Max Scherzer and the Mets as he attempts to make some mechanical adjustments to his swing.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Sitting again Sunday

Rojas (illness) is not in the lineup Sunday against Atlanta, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Rojas was scratched from Saturday's starting nine due to flu-like symptoms, and he'll sit for a second straight game Sunday. Joey Wendle will shift over to shortstop while Jon Berti starts at third base in the series finale.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Logs multiple hits

Perdomo went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Mets.

Perdomo started at shortstop, as the Diamondbacks plan to ease Nick Ahmed back from a shoulder injury. Long term, the team is giving the prospect practice reps at third base, where at-bats are available. Following a 1-for-22 start, Perdomo has multiple hits in two straight games, including his first double and triple of the season.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Steals home in win

Adames went 2-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's victory over the Phillies.

The stolen base came as part of a double steal executed by Adames and teammate Christian Yelich, and Adames wound up being credited with both his first stolen base of the season and a steal of home on the play. Adames has started every game this season, and after going through a 2-for-29 (.069) stretch, he's reached base four times over the Brewers' last two games.
