Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM
Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Shielded from Rule 5 draft
Mauricio was added to the Mets' 40-man roster Friday, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
While Mauricio isn't all that close to making his big-league debut, he is too talented to leave unprotected from the Rule 5 draft. Once a skinny shortstop who was all projection, Mauricio has filled out his 6-foot-3 frame and is getting to that impressive power in games. He will need to improve his approach in the coming years.

Eddys Leonard SS | MIL
Dodgers' Eddys Leonard: Rewarded with 40-man roster spot
Leonard was added to the Dodgers' 40-man roster Friday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Leonard forced the Dodgers to protect him from the Rule 5 draft after slashing .299/.375/.530 with eight home runs in 41 games as a 20-year-old at High-A. The Dodgers will always have a crowded infield, but he might bring enough offensive impact to the table to get a look in a couple years.

Jacob Amaya SS | ARI
Dodgers' Jacob Amaya: Protected from Rule 5 draft
Amaya's contract was selected by the Dodgers on Friday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Amaya served as a non-roster invitee during spring training in 2021, but he spent the entire season at Double-A Tulsa and slashed .216/.303/.343 with 12 homers, 60 runs, 47 RBI and five stolen bases. His addition to the 40-man roster will protect him from the Rule 5 draft.

Diego Castillo 3B | MIN
Pirates' Diego Castillo: Added to major-league roster
Castillo's contract was selected from Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Castillo was traded from the Yankees to the Pirates in late July, and he'll now join Pittsburgh's 40-man roster to prevent him from reaching minor-league free agency. The 24-year-old made 18 appearances in Indianapolis and slashed .278/.414/.500 with three homers, 18 runs and seven RBI.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Blasts two-run homer
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-0 win over the Astros in Game 6 of the World Series.
Swanson extended Atlanta's lead with his two-run blast in the fifth inning, and he fielded the game-winning out as the team clinched the title. He started each of the six games in the World Series and hit .200 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs.

Johan Camargo SS | SF
Braves' Johan Camargo: Returns to roster
Camargo was added to Atlanta's World Series roster Tuesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Camargo will replace Ehire Adrianza, who was placed on the paternity list. Adrianza has been limited to bench duty this postseason, and Camargo is likely to fill a similar role.

Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA
Braves' Ehire Adrianza: Away on paternity leave
Adrianza was placed on the paternity list Tuesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
With a maximum of two games left in the World Series, the move presumably ends Adrianza's season. It won't have much of an impact on Atlanta's plans, as Adrianza has been limited to pinch-hitting duties during the postseason, going 1-for-10 at the plate. Johan Camargo will fill that role in his absence.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Hits game-tying homer
Swanson went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in Saturday's World Series Game 4 win over the Astros.
Swanson came to the plate against Cristian Javier with one out and a 2-1 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning. He took an 0-2 fastball over the right-field wall to tie the game, with Jorge Soler repeating the feat one batter later to give Atlanta the lead. Swanson's postseason has been unimpressive overall even after his Game 4 heroics, as he's hitting just .240/.283/.320 in 14 playoff games.
