  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Homers in victory

Story went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in a win over the Nationals on Tuesday.

The shortstop doubled in the first inning before taking Patrick Corbin deep in the fifth inning for his 24th long ball of the year. It was his third multi-hit contest in his last eight contests and he didn't strike out for only the second time in 14 contests.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Scratched with quad issue

Adames was scratched from Tuesday's lineup at St. Louis due to left quadriceps discomfort, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The injury is to the same quad that sent Adames to the injured list earlier in September, so it's a potentially worrying development during the final week of the regular season. The Brewers labeled his removal from the starting nine as a precautionary measure, and the team figures to be extra careful for the final six games of the season since its playoff seeding is already locked in. Luis Urias will take over at shortstop and should continue to see time there until Adames is cleared to return.

  • Luke Williams SS | ATL

Phillies' Luke Williams: Sent back to Lehigh Valley

Williams was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

Williams has gone hitless in three at-bats off the bench since being activated from the COVID-19 IL on Sept. 20. The club has decided to recall infielder Alec Bohm from Lehigh Valley, which leaves Williams as the odd man out on the 28-man roster. Assuming Williams does not return to the majors during the final five days of the season, he'll conclude his big-league campaign having hit .245/.315/.316 with one homer, four doubles and six RBI across 98 at-bats.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: On bench for afternoon game

Rojas will sit for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

The Marlins will likely give a number of their regulars a rest in one of the two games. Jazz Chisholm slides to shortstop for the afternoon contest, with Joe Panik starting at second base.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Dodgers' Trea Turner: Goes deep in win Sunday

Turner went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in a 3-0 victory versus Arizona on Sunday.

All of the Dodgers' runs in the win came off solo homers -- two by Corey Seager and one by Turner. The middle-infield combo went back-to-back in the first inning to give Los Angeles an early lead. Turner's effort extended his hitting streak to 13 games, during which he is slashing .377/.450/.660 with four homers, seven RBI, 11 runs and five stolen bases.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Homers twice Sunday

Seager went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs and a walk Sunday in a 3-0 win over the Diamondbacks.

Seager was the star of the show offensively for Los Angeles in the win, belting a solo shot to left field in the first inning and booming a massive 464-foot blast to right field in the third. The multi-homer game was the first of the campaign for the shortstop, who missed over two months earlier this season due to a broken hand. Seager has enjoyed a red-hot September, slashing .350/.448/.588 with five long balls, 14 RBI and a 15:7 BB:K through 23 games.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Starts Sunday

Perdomo started at shortstop and went 1-for-2 with a walk in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Dodgers.

Perdomo returned to the majors after the Diamondbacks placed Nick Ahmed (shoulder) on the injured list. Perdomo's overall numbers in the minor leagues may appear unremarkable, but digging deeper reveals a more hopeful story. The shortstop was hitting .151 for Double-A Amarillo in July, when the organization sent him to the team's spring training facility to revamp his swing, according to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. He returned to play a month later and had the best stretch of his minor-league career, posting a .321/.406/.530 line over the next 35 games. "I think he's made considerable improvements from an offensive standpoint," manager Torey Lovullo said. "I don't want to set the bar too high, but he has made some swing adjustments, especially from the left-hand side, where he's generating a little bit more force, a little bit more bat speed, and we've seen that exit velocity climb over the past several weeks of his at-bats in the minor leagues." Perdomo was then promoted to Triple-A Reno, where we went 5-for-12 with two walks prior to Sunday's call-up.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Leads Crew to division-clinching win

Adames went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk, three RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Mets.

Adames showed out on Sunday as the Brewers clinched the National League Central with a win over the Mets. He started off by taking Carlos Carrasco deep to left in the first to put Milwaukee up 2-1. He would reach base three more times throughout the game and was able to cross home again twice. The 26-year-old has been absolutely brilliant since coming over to Milwaukee. He's slashing .289/.370/.529 with 19 homers, 57 RBI, 57 runs scored, four steals and 44:98 BB:K over 533 plate appearances since joining the team May 22.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Mets' Javier Baez: Plates two runs Sunday

Baez went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Brewers.

Baez's first hit of the day went for a two-run double in the fourth to make it a 5-3 deficit for the Mets. He later notched a base hit in the sixth but was left stranded on third. The 28-year-old Baez has been rolling in September, slashing .373/.453/.614 with five homers, 14 RBI, 18 runs scored, five steals and 9:23 BB:K in 23 games. He's hit safely in each of his last 10 games now. Baez has certainly been a worthwhile addition since being acquired at the trade deadline and will have some big decisions to make in the offseason as the end of the season approaches.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Launches early home run

Lindor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Brewers.

Lindor got the Mets on the board early with a solo home run off Freddy Peralta in the first inning. The long ball was the 27-year-old's only hit of the day and his first since he hit three against the Yankees in one game Sept. 12. Lindor is not having the season he hoped for in his first year as a Met. All of his hitting statistics are down in comparison to past years. He's currently slashing .228/.322/.402 with 18 homers, 56 RBI, 69 runs scored, 10 steals and 55:90 BB:K over 494 plate appearances.
