Marlins' Jon Berti: Bows out of lineup

Berti is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

He'll take a seat after five consecutive starts out of the leadoff spot, during which he went 3-for-16 with four walks, four runs and three stolen bases. Corey Dickerson will replace Berti atop the order Monday, while Lewis Brinson picks up a start in center field.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Braves' Dansby Swanson: Swats solo shot

Swanson went 1-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's 12-10 win over the Phillies.

Swanson's second-inning walk came with the bases-loaded to score Austin Riley, and Swanson later scored on a Marcell Ozuna single. In the ninth, Swanson added a homer to give the Braves an insurance run. The shortstop is slashing a strong .303/.343/.492 with five homers, 20 RBI, 29 runs scored and four stolen bases through 33 games this season.

  • Paul DeJong SS | DET

Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Collects another three hits

DeJong went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored Sunday against Cleveland.

DeJong recorded his second three-hit effort in the Cardinals' weekend series against Cleveland. His ability to hit for extra-bases was an encouraging sign as he had logged just one double, no home runs and no triples in his first 27 at-bats since being activated from the injured list. For the season, DeJong is now hitting .313/.358/.458 across 53 plate appearances.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Slugs ninth homer

Seager went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI and one run scored Sunday against the Rangers.

Seager took Kyle Gibson deep as the second batter of the game, collecting his ninth homer of the season. He's been very productive of late, racking up at least one hit in 11 of his 13 last starts, during which he's racked up five long balls, 15 RBI and nine runs scored. Overall, Seager has maintained a .311/.354/.597 line across 127 plate appearances while also chipping in 25 RBI and 21 runs scored.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Connects on second homer

Arcia went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run Saturday in the Brewers' 7-6 win over the Pirates.

Arcia took Pirates reliever Chris Stratton deep in the seventh inning for his second home run of the season and his first since Aug. 16. Though Luis Urias' return from the COVID-19 injured list earlier this month looked like it might have threatened Arcia's standing as the everyday shortstop, manager Craig Counsell has been able to find room for both players in the regular lineup. Urias has instead seen most of his action at second base and third base.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Leading off in fifth straight

Berti will start in center field and lead off in Sunday's game against the Rays, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Berti will set the table for Miami for the fifth game in a row and the sixth time in seven games. The 30-year-old looks poised to serve as Miami's primary center fielder while Magneuris Sierra (hamstring) is out, making Berti worthy of a look for those needing help in the stolen-base category. Berti has gone 8-for-9 on steal attempts so far this season.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Two-hit performance Saturday

Story went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's win over the Padres.

Story continues to be one of the most consistent bats in the Rockies lineup and extended his hitting streak to nine games. He has posted three multi-hit games in that stretch and is hitting .343 with a 1.068 OPS and two homers in that nine-game span.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Nationals' Trea Turner: Five-hit effort in loss

Turner went 5-for-5 with a run scored and a pair of doubles in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Red Sox.

Turner was able to score on an error in the third inning after smacking his second double of the game. His other three hits were singles, and he accounted for nearly half of the Nationals' 11 hits in total. During the shortstop's 14-game hitting streak, Turner is 27-for-57 (.474) with three homers, 11 RBI, 17 runs scored and three stolen bases. For the season, he's slashing .350/.410/.617 with six homers, three steals, 17 RBI and 24 runs scored in 30 contests.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Not starting nightcap

Baez is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Reds.

Baez, who started the last 12 games and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts during Game 1, will take a seat for the nightcap. Nico Hoerner will step in at shortstop in Game 2.

  • Jose Barrero SS | BAL

Reds' Jose Garcia: Not starting matinee

Garcia isn't starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cubs.
