Rosell Herrera SS | KC
Marlins' Rosell Herrera: Designated for assignment
Herrera was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Wednesday, Craig Mish of FNTSY reports.
The Marlins need to clear a roster spot for the addition of Zac Gallen, who will have his contract purchased ahead of his scheduled start Thursday against the Cardinals. Herrera didn't stake a particularly firm claim to a roster spot, hitting just .200/.288/.314 in 63 games and posting the exact same .602 OPS he recorded in his debut season.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Posts two more hits
Story went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in the Rockies' 8-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Story stayed locked in at the dish in this contest, as he smacked his 20th double of the season as part of his fourth straight multi-hit performance. The recent hot streak brings his slash line up to an excellent .294/.360/.549 to go along with 17 homers and 48 RBI through 293 at-bats.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Slow start to majors career
Edman has logged action in five major-league games since being promoted from Triple-A Memphis on June 8 and is 1-for-6 with a double, a stolen base and three runs.
The rookie has only started one of those five contests, appearing as an in-game replacement in the other four. Edman's big-league tenure is expected to only last through Jedd Gyorko's (back) stay on the injured list, which could conclude as early as Tuesday.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Drives in two
Crawford went 1-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBI in Monday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers.
Crawford got the Giants on the board early with a two-run double off Kenta Maeda in the second, which proved to be the biggest blow in a narrow victory. The veteran shortstop has now contributed two solid performances over his last three contests (4-for-12 with three doubles). We have seen these brief spurts before this season, but they have yet to materialize into a legitimate hot streak. Crawford remains a low-end fantasy shortstop with a .209/.281/.322 slash line through 67 games.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Maintaining arm strength
Seager (hamstring) played catch Monday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Seager was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a left hamstring strain, but the Dodgers already have him playing catch, likely to keep his arm strong while his lower body heals. He's expected to remain on the shelf for approximately 4-to-6 weeks.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Scores another run in win
Swanson went 1-for-5 with a run scored in Sunday's 15-1 win over the Phillies.
Since opening June with eight two-hit outings in 11 starts, Swanson's bat has predictably cooled down. He's gone 3-for-14 over his last four games, but thanks to a 4:2 BB:K in that span, he's been able to bring value out of the No. 2 spot in the lineup. Swanson's favorable spot in the order between Ronald Acuna and Freddie Freeman should continue to prop up his run and RBI counts even amid his relative dry spells at the plate.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Hits 17th home run of season
Story went 2-for-6 with a solo home run in Sunday's 14-13 loss to the Padres.
Story recorded his third consecutive multi-hit performance, including an opposite-field home run in the sixth inning. He enjoyed a productive series against San Diego, totaling seven runs scored, four RBI, two home runs and one stolen base across four games. Story will look to continue his strong form in the next series on the road against the Diamondbacks.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Enters leadoff spot
Baez will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Sunday night's series finale against the Dodgers.
Baez has spent the bulk of the season batting cleanup (61 of 70 games) for the Cubs, but he'll climb to the top of the order with Kyle Schwarber receiving the day off. The 26-year-old batted leadoff four times last season and has 10 starts there in his career, and he will have a tough task Sunday against Dodgers lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Stays hot in defeat
DeJong went 3-for-4 with a run-scoring sacrifice fly, a stolen base and a run in a loss to the Mets on Saturday.
After a forgettable May at the plate, DeJong has seen the hits start to fall again in June. The shortstop has now reached safely in 10 of his last 11 games, and he has multi-hit efforts in two of his last three. The strong stretch has DeJong's season line back up to a solid .277/.364/.496.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Racks up three hits
Story (forehead) went 3-for-4 with a double, a pair of walks, two runs and an RBI in Saturday's 14-8 win over the Padres.
After leaving Friday's game early when he took a ground ball off his forehead, Story checked back into the lineup a day later and appeared no worse for the wear. He was one of six Rockies to finish with multiple hits on the day, boosting his season-long line at Coors Field to an otherworldly .336/.405/.657.
