Williams was added to the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The 25-year-old didn't start in any of the last three games, but he'll take over at third base and bat ninth after Miguel Rojas (foot) was scratched from Friday's lineup. Over 18 games since joining the Marlins, Williams has hit .200 with a double, six runs, an RBI and three stolen bases.

Rojas was scratched from the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets due to a right foot bone contusion, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Rojas was initially slated to start at shortstop and bat eighth before he was removed from the lineup with just over two hours remaining until first pitch. The severity of his injury isn't yet clear, but Jon Berti will shift to shortstop while Luke Williams enters the lineup at third base Friday.

Bogaerts will sit Friday against the Guardians, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

This appears to be nothing more than a routine day off for Bogaerts, who winds up with two full days to rest, as the Red Sox had a scheduled off day Thursday. Christian Arroyo will start at shortstop.

Diaz (shoulder) will bat seventh and play shortstop Friday against the Yankees.

Diaz missed the last four games with left shoulder soreness. He returns to a temporary starting role but will likely head back to the bench soon, as Jeremy Pena (thumb) appears close to a return from the injured list.

Wendle (hamstring) will serve as the designated hitter during a rehab game at Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Wendle has been sidelined since the beginning of June due to his hamstring injury, but he'll be able to return to game action with the minor-league club this weekend. It's possible that the 32-year-old will require multiple rehab games, but it seems likely that he'll rejoin the Marlins sometime next week. Brian Anderson (back) is also in Jacksonville on a rehab assignment, and it's not yet clear how the playing time at the hot corner will be dished out once Anderson, Wendle and Jon Berti are all healthy.

Smith is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals.

Smith will take a breather after starting two games in a row following a stint on the 10-day injured list due to a shoulder issue. He went 1-for-6 with a walk and a run scored in those contests. Ezequiel Duran will get the start at third base and bat eighth in Friday's matchup.

Winn has produced a .265/.353/.471 slash line with four homers, four steals on six attempts and a 15:25 BB:K through 26 games since being promoted to Double-A Springfield.

He actually carried over his red-hot hitting from High-A to the new level at first, batting .309 with a .922 OPS over his first 17 games with Springfield. However, Winn has cooled off recently, going just 6-for-34 (.176) across his last nine contests, including an 0-for-6 effort Thursday. Of course, he's drawn eight walks and stolen three bases in that span, which certainly helps take the edge off the mini-slump. The composite numbers are still fantastic for a 20-year-old in Double-A, and after Winn didn't show much over-the-fence power in High-A (just one homer, but 11 doubles and seven triples in 33 games), it's nice to see him going yard more often. Considering that Winn is only in his second season as a full-time position player after being a true two-way player in high school, his progress has been astonishing.

Cruz went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Cubs.

Cruz recorded an RBI double in the sixth inning and has driven in at least one run in all four games since arriving in Pittsburgh. Though he's yet to go yard in the majors, the 23-year-ols has two extra-base hits, four runs scored and seven RBI across 18 at-bats. Cruz has hit primarily in the bottom third of the order, though that could change as the season progresses.

Adames went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-4 win against the Cardinals on Thursday.

Adames hit one of two Milwaukee homers in the contest, slugging a solo shot off Dakota Hudson in the fifth inning. The shortstop has gone deep five times in his past 11 games and has notched 11 RBI over that span. He is tied with Corey Seager for the league lead in homers among shortstops with 15 on the season.

Berti went 2-for-4 with a double, two stolen bases and a run scored Thursday against the Rockies.

Berti continued his torrid stolen base pace, and he now has 17 swipes across 20 starts in June. While his aggressiveness on the bases is the highlight, Berti has also hit .299 with 13 runs and 10 RBI in that span. With both Joey Wendle (hamstring) and Brian Anderson (back) still sidelined, Berti should remain a fixture in the lineup for the time being.
