  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Goes deep, swipes bag

Anderson went 2-for-5 with a solo homer, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Twins.

Anderson drilled a leadoff homer on the first pitch of the game to put the White Sox on top in the first inning; it was his first long ball since April 13. The star shortstop then singled and stole second in the third. He improved his slash line to .313/.327/.521 with six extra-base hits and three steals through 49 plate appearances.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Could return Monday

Angels athletic trainer Mike Frostad said Fletcher (hip) will be medically cleared to return from the 10-day injured list following his rehab game Sunday with Triple-A Salt Lake, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

With the Angels' medical team giving Fletcher the green light to rejoin the big club, it'll be up to Los Angeles' front office to decide whether to bring the 27-year-old back from the IL in advance of Monday's series opener with the Guardians. Fletcher, who has been out of the Angels lineup since April 11 with a left hip strain, went hitless with a walk over eight at-bats during his first two rehab games for Salt Lake.

  • Phillies' Johan Camargo: Fills in at shortstop for Gregorius

Camargo will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Brewers, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Alec Bohm appears to have seized hold of the everyday role at third base, but Camargo has still been able to pick up playing time in the infield thanks to Didi Gregorius' (hand) ongoing absence. He'll man shortstop for the fourth game in a row, though Camargo could see his opportunities dwindle while moving back into a utility role in the coming days if Gregorius is able to avoid a trip to the injured list.

  • Kevin Smith DH | NYY

Athletics' Kevin Smith: Making good progress

Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said that Smith (ankle) took part in full baseball activities Sunday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Smith, who is recovering from a bone bruise in his left ankle, was able to take batting practice in the cage and field grounders at third base as part of an extended workout. Kotsay said after the workout that Smith could soon head out on a brief minor-league rehab assignment before potentially returning from the 10-day injured list at some point next weekend.

  • Nick Allen SS | HOU

Athletics' Nick Allen: Gets fourth straight start

Allen will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Allen is filling in for a resting Elvis Andrus on Sunday, but the rookie should see steady playing time at the keystone during the upcoming week at least until Oakland gets Chad Pinder or Jed Lowrie back from the COVID-19-related injured list. Through his first four big-league games, Allen has gone 2-for-12 with two doubles and a run.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Orioles' Chris Owings: Filling in for resting Odor

Owings will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Angels.

Owings will pick up his fifth start of the season Sunday, filling in at the keystone for the lefty-hitting Rougned Odor, who sits with a southpaw (Jose Suarez) on the mound for the Angels. The utility man is 1-for-10 with eight strikeouts through his first six games with the Orioles.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Padres' CJ Abrams: Sitting versus southpaw

Abrams is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Abrams will once again head to the bench against a left-handed starting pitcher. Ha-Seong Kim will start at shortstop with Clayton Kershaw on the mound for Los Angeles.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Sharing keystone with Goodrum

Diaz will start at second base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Diaz and Niko Goodrum have now alternated starts at the keystone for five straight games following Jose Altuve's (hamstring) placement on the 10-day injured list. Though Diaz draws the start Sunday with southpaw Yusei Kikuchi on the mound for Toronto, it's not entirely clear if the Astros plan to deploy a platoon arrangement between the righty-hitting Diaz and the switch-hitting Goodrum while Altuve is on the shelf.

  • Diego Castillo 3B | MIN

Pirates' Diego Castillo: Bats leadoff, manning right field

Castillo will bat leadoff and start in right field Sunday against the Cubs.

The 24-year-old will start in right field the second straight game and could see increased time there moving forward after the Pirates designated Anthony Alford for assignment. It's also the first time batting leadoff for Castillo, who has a .250/.250/.361 slash line with one home run, three RBI and four runs through his first 10 big-league games.

  • Jorge Mateo SS | ATL

Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Keeps running in win

Mateo went 0-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Angels.

Mateo has recorded three steals in two games against the Angels in this weekend's series. In Saturday's contest, he reached on an error and stole second in the second inning, but he was left aboard. The Orioles' primary shortstop has yet to be caught in six stolen base attempts, and he's added three RBI, three runs scored and a .229/.288/.271 slash line in 53 plate appearances.
