Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Rays' Joey Wendle: Not starting Tuesday
Wendle is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
Wendle has started against plenty of southpaws this season, but his day off Tuesday against Ranger Suarez means he's now been on the bench against four of the last six lefties the Rays have faced. Yandy Diaz starts at the hot corner in his absence.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Sitting again Monday
Anderson (leg) is not in the lineup Monday against the Blue Jays.
Anderson is out of the starting nine for the third consecutive contest as he continues to manage some leg soreness. Manager Tony La Russa previously said the injury is minor and that the shortstop's absence is precautionary, but he's nonetheless sitting for the third straight day. Danny Mendick will start at shortstop while Cesar Hernandez handles leadoff duties in his absence.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Idle Monday
Story is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.
After starting each of the past eight games and batting only .200 over that stretch, Story will get Monday off to clear his head. Brendan Rodgers will step in at shortstop Story.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Reaches double-digit steals
Crawford went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 2-1 win over Oakland.
The shortstop was on the front end of a double steal with Kris Bryant in the ninth inning. Crawford has 10 stolen bases this year, the first time he's reached double-digits in his career. He's added a strong .300/.367/.532 slash line with 19 home runs, 70 RBI and 58 runs scored across 403 plate appearances. He'll likely continue to hit near the middle of the order while enjoying a near-everyday role.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Productive out of fifth spot
Swanson went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run Sunday in Atlanta's 3-1 win over Baltimore.
Swanson didn't produce any home runs or steals during a six-game week that included visits to Miami and Baltimore, but he remained a key cog in the lineup for one of the majors' hottest teams. While making all six of his starts in the No. 5 spot in the batting order, Swanson provided a .318/.444/.364 slash line during the past week to help Atlanta extend its winning streak to nine.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Closes homestand with whimper
Story went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Sunday in the Rockies' 8-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Heading into the Rockies' homestand this past week, Story had maintained a 1.152 OPS through his first 13 games of August, but he surprisingly wasn't able to keep the momentum going at Coors Field. After turning in back-to-back 0-for-4 days in the final two games of the series with Arizona, Story concluded the six-game homestand with a .136/.240/.409 slash line.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Mets' Javier Baez: Doubles twice in return
Baez went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs, an RBI, a HBP and a strikeout as the Mets defeated the Dodgers 7-2 on Sunday.
Playing in his first game since Aug. 10 due to a back injury, Baez doubled home a run before scoring to get New York on the board in the first inning, doubled and scored again in the seventh and was hit by a pitch in the ninth. This was Baez's second multi-hit game in 11 appearances with his new team, and he'll look to use this performance as a launching pad for the stretch run.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Expected back Tuesday
The Mets are hopeful that Lindor (oblique) will be ready to return from the 10-day injured list for Tuesday's game against the Giants, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
The Mets entertained the idea of bringing Lindor back from the IL for Sunday's series finale with the Dodgers, but Rojas said at the recommendation of the team performance staff, the four-time All-Star was given some additional time to recover from the right oblique strain that has sidelined him since July 17. Assuming Lindor makes it through a pregame workout Tuesday no worse for the wear, he should draw back into the New York lineup for the series opener with San Francisco. When Lindor is activated, he'll slot in as the Mets' everyday shortstop, while Javier Baez shifts over to the keystone and Jeff McNeil moves over to third base.
-
Bo Bichette 3B | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Three hits in loss
Bichette went 3-for-6 with a double and a run scored in Sunday's 5-3 extra-innings loss to Detroit.
The shortstop has recorded multiple hits in three of his last five games, going 7-for-23 (.304) in that span, although he's added just two runs scored. Bichette continues to be reliable atop the Toronto order with a .287/.337/.459 slash line, 20 home runs, 77 RBI, 91 runs scored and 18 stolen bases in 520 plate appearances overall.

Wander Franco SS | TB
Rays' Wander Franco: Scores three runs
Franco went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 9-0 win over the White Sox.
Franco doubled in a run and came around to score in the third inning and later crossed home in the sixth and seventh frames. The superstar rookie is riding a 24-game on-base streak, going 29-for-93 (.312) with 13 extra-base hits and 23 runs scored during that span. During his current seven-game hitting streak, he's 12-for-28 (.429) while striking out just one time.
