Javier Baez SS | DET
Mets' Javier Baez: More tests on tap
Baez is scheduled to undergo more testing Monday as the Mets look to get a full picture of the left hip injury he suffered in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Phillies, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
At the moment, the Mets are optimistic that Baez is dealing with tightness in the hip rather than something more serious such as a fracture or high-grade strain, but the medical tests will tell the ultimate tale. Even if Baez gets good news from the tests, he could be at risk of missing the Mets' three-game series with the Nationals that begins Tuesday. Jonathan Villar is the next man up at shortstop behind Baez.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Adds steal in loss
Mateo went 0-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 9-6 loss to Tampa Bay.
The speedster was plunked by Michael Wacha in the second inning, then stole second and scored on a Richie Martin single. Mateo has recorded two steals in has last two games, giving him seven in 60 games between Baltimore and San Diego. As long as he can perform reasonably well at that plate, Mateo should see a large share of playing time at second base over the last two months of the season.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Three hits, homer
Anderson went 3-for-5 with a double, a solo home run, an additional run and a strikeout in a 9-3 victory over the Cubs on Sunday.
Anderson homered to lead off the game as part of a five-run first, singled and scored in the second and doubled in the eighth to reach base three times for the second time this month. The strong performance at the dish snapped a 2-for-18 mini-slump over Anderson's last four games, and the shortstop is now slashing .296/.327/.440 on the season.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Mets' Javier Baez: Deemed day-to-day
Mets manager Luis Rojas announced following the team's 3-0 loss to the Phillies on Sunday that Baez is day-to-day after exiting the contest in the fifth inning with left hip tightness, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
When Baez limped back to the dugout after tweaking his hip during his second plate appearance of the afternoon, Rojas said he initially feared the 28-year-old could be dealing with an injury similar to the oblique issue that has kept Francisco Lindor sidelined for the past three weeks. Fortunately for Baez, team trainers are optimistic he's dealing with a lesser concern than Lindor, but that doesn't mean that Baez is out of the woods when it comes to a potential trip to the injured list. Baez will likely be re-evaluated following Monday's off day before the Mets make a formal decision on whether or not an IL stint will be necessary. With Luis Guillorme (hamstring) and Lindor both on the shelf, Jonathan Villar is the next man up for everyday duties at shortstop if Baez misses time.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Late lineup addition
Anderson is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Sunday against the Cubs, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Anderson was originally slated for an off day in the series finale, but the shortstop was able to convince manager Tony La Russa to add him to the starting nine. Leury Garcia was scheduled to start at shortstop but will now come off the bench.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Mets' Javier Baez: Injury labeled as tight left hip
The Mets announced that Baez was removed in the fifth inning of Sunday's game due to left hip tightness, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
Baez went 0-for-2 on the day before exiting following his at-bat in the top of the fifth when he appeared to tweak the hip in question. The Mets haven't provided an indication on Baez's status for the upcoming week, and he could undergo further testing before a determination is made on his availability for the three-game series versus the Nationals that begins Tuesday. Jonathan Villar moved over to shortstop after Baez's exit and would become the primary option at the position if Baez is forced to miss additional time.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Mets' Javier Baez: Exits Sunday with injury
Baez was removed in the fifth inning of Sunday's game against the Phillies due to an apparent side injury, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. He went hitless in two at-bats before departing.
The Mets will likely provide a firmer diagnosis of Baez's injury later Sunday, but the infielder looked to be grabbing at his side when he attempted to run out of the batter's box during a groundout in the top of the fifth inning, according to SportsNet New York. J.D. Davis came off the bench to replace Baez in the bottom of the fifth.
