Mateo (undisclosed) is starting the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays.

Mateo remained out of the lineup for Saturday's matinee as he continued to deal with soreness, but he'll start at shortstop and bat sixth in the nightcap. He went 3-for-17 with two RBI, a stolen base and a walk in the five appearances prior to his absence.

Crawford left Saturday's win over the Cubs with wrist soreness, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Crawford was replaced defensively in the bottom of the fifth inning Saturday, and manager Gabe Kapler revealed after the game that the shortstop is dealing with a wrist issue. He's considered day-to-day and will be evaluated ahead of Sunday's series finale against the Cubs. Prior to his departure, the 34-year-old went 1-for-1 with two runs and two walks.

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

The veteran shortstop left the yard for the second time in as many games with a leadoff homer to right field. Crawford has now reached safely in 10 straight games, a stretch during which he's hitting .341 (14-for-41) with two doubles, two homers, seven RBI, seven walks and 10 runs.

Mondesi is not in Saturday's lineup against the Twins.

He is 0-for-16 with eight strikeouts and two steals over his last five games. The Royals will continue to give him days off over the final three weeks in an effort to keep him healthy. Hanser Alberto starts at third base in his stead.

Franco (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

This move was expected after Franco suffered a right hamstring strain Friday against the Tigers. Taylor Walls was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Walls will be the primary shortstop while Franco is sidelined. Franco will get an MRI on Saturday and the hope is he will be able to return before the end of the regular season.

Correa went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 10-5 win over the Angels.

Correa posted his fourth consecutive multi-hit effort and hasn't gone more than one game without a base hit since July 25. Since then, he's 48-for-151 (.318) with a .912 OPS.

Bogaerts went 2-for-3 with a walk in Friday's 4-3 loss to the White Sox.

Bogaerts returned to action after a 10-day quarantine period on the COVID-19 protocols list. He was asymptomatic the entire time.

Story went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Friday's 11-2 win over Philadelphia.

The shortstop had the first of back-to-back homers with C.J. Cron in the seventh inning. Story has now reached the 20-homer mark in all five full-length seasons he's played, and he had 11 in 59 contests during the abbreviated 2020 campaign. In 2021, he's had some struggles at the plate with a .249 batting average, but he's posted a .799 OPS with 67 RBI, 76 runs scored, 18 stolen bases and 32 doubles through 125 games.

Wendle went 1-for-3 with an RBI single, a stolen base and a walk in Friday's 10-4 loss to Detroit.

Wander Franco left the game with a hamstring injury after going from first to third on a Nelson Cruz double in the first inning. Wendle took over at shortstop and later knocked in Tampa Bay's first run of the game in the fifth. The 31-year-old has gone 8-for-25 (.320) across eight games in September. He's slashing a reasonable .276/.326/.432 with nine home runs, seven stolen bases, 50 RBI and 63 runs scored through 432 plate appearances overall. Franco is likely to miss additional time with his injury, which could put Wendle in line for something closer to an everyday role in the near term.

Baez went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Yankees.

Baez knocked an RBI single in the first inning and an RBI double in the fourth. It was already his fifth multi-hit game in September after producing three in August. Over his last eight games, the slugging infielder has gone 14-for-29 (.483) with six extra-base hits and seven RBI. Baez now owns an .807 OPS with 80 RBI through 472 plate appearances.
