Diaz (groin) participated in a batting session and executed agility work Sunday at the Astros' alternate training facility in Corpus Christi, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

There hasn't been much news about Diaz after he was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained groin the second day of the season. He's one of a few roster regulars the Astros are missing. Yordan Alvarez (undisclosed) and George Springer (wrist) are also working back from injury.

Ahmed went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Sunday's 9-5 loss to the Padres.

Ahmed slugged his second long ball of the season in the ninth inning, but the game was well out of hand by then. His hard contact rate is down and groundball rate is up, but the shortstop continues to dig out of an early-season slump. Ahmed's 5-for-20 over the last six games after batting .065 over the first 10 contests.

Bichette went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday against the Red Sox.

Bichette took Nathan Eovaldi deep in the sixth inning for his second home run of the season. He's been on a power surge of late, collecting two home runs and two doubles in his past four contests. Overall, he's hitting .289/.304/.511 across 46 plate appearances.

Anderson (groin) will travel with the team to Detroit for the upcoming road trip, which begins Monday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

The team hasn't provided a specific date for his return from the injured list, but it appears the 27-year-old could be activated when first eligible Tuesday. Anderson will reclaim the leadoff spot upon his return despite the impressive performance of Luis Robert in his place. Anderson was 10-for-30 with a home run, four doubles and seven runs before going down with the injury.

Gordon will start at second base and bat eighth Sunday against the Rockies, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

While Gordon is filling in for a resting Shed Long in the series finale and starting for the third time in four games overall, the veteran's best path to regular playing time likely comes in the corner outfield, where the Mariners are still waiting for someone to emerge as a viable complement to Kyle Lewis and Dylan Moore. Gordon has mustered a lowly .392 OPS through 29 plate appearances, but that hasn't disqualified him from the mix because his main competitors, Tim Lopes and Mallex Smith, have been largely underwhelming. Lopes and Smith carry OPS marks of .653 and .368, respectively, into Sunday's contest.

Owings will start at third base and bat eighth Sunday against the Mariners, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

The Rockies have faced a slew of left-handed pitchers lately, which has allowed Owings to at least temporarily emerge as a fixture in the lineup. He'll start for the seventh time in nine games, with the versatile Owings having manned five different positions over that stretch. Owings is slashing a respectable .296/.367/.444 across 30 plate appearances this season.

Seager (back) is not in the lineup Sunday against the Giants.

The 26-year-old had a scan on his back come back clean Saturday, but it's not much of a surprise to see him out of the lineup again a day later. According to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, Seager hasn't resumed baseball activities since exiting Friday's contest, but he's still considered day-to-day and a trip to the injured list isn't yet being considered. Enrique Hernandez will start at shortstop in Sunday's series finale.

Adrianza is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals.

Adrianza entered the starting nine in each of the past four games, going 2-for-13 with a walk and four strikeouts in those contests. Even though Josh Donaldson (calf) is on the injured list, Adrianza is expected to stick in a bench role for the foreseeable future. Marwin Gonzalez will instead serve as Donaldson's primary replacement at the hot corner.

Arcia is out of the lineup Sunday versus Cincinnati, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Arcia started the past four games but will take a seat after going 2-for-12 with two strikeouts and two walks. Eric Sogard will shift to shortstop Sunday, while Brock Holt starts at third base.

Mondesi went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases in Saturday's 9-6 win over the Twins.

After singling against Sean Poppen in the seventh inning, Mondesi stole second and third to triple his stolen stolen-base total for the season. Mondesi has drawn only one walk in 62 plate appearances and is still without a homer. However, after batting as low as eighth last week, Mondesi has hit fifth in each of the Royals' last three games, which suggests manager Mike Matheny is confident that Mondesi is close to getting it together.
