Diaz (head) will play with Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday and Sunday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

Diaz was given the green light to take batting practice and participate in some fielding work Wednesday, and the Astros will send him to Round Rock over the weekend. He was placed on the injured list Sunday after experiencing lightheadedness and dizziness and will be eligible to be reinstated for Tuesday's game against Tampa Bay.

Rojas (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Jupiter on Friday, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

He is expected to play five innings in his first rehab game. Rojas has been out since Aug. 6 and should not require a lengthy rehab assignment.

Adames went 3-for-4 with a pair of run-scoring singles and a solo home run in a win over the Orioles on Thursday.

Adames' resurgent month continued in fine fashion Thursday, with the young shortstop churning out his second three-hit game in the last three contests and leaving the yard for the first time since Aug. 6. His latest successful night at the plate boosted his slash line to .252/.314/.412, with his batting average now at its highest point since July 3.

Story is not in Friday's lineup against the Cardinals.

There has been no report of Story dealing with an injury, so it seems like a standard off day. He is hitting .378 with six home runs and four steals in 19 games this month. Garrett Hampson will start at shortstop and hit eighth.

Correa underwent an MRI exam Thursday that showed no structural damage to his back, David Barron of the Houston Chronicle reports.

That encouraging news has Correa confident he can return to the lineup in short order after an injury to the same area in 2018 limited him to 110 games. He's shut down for the next few days while undergoing treatment, but the shortstop could then play a couple of minor-league rehab games before rejoining the roster. That's a slightly different timetable than the one suggested by general manager Jeff Luhnow, who implied a return date of Sept. 8 or so, but it's safe to assume Correa will be back in an Astros uniform around the first week of September.

DeJong went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Thursday against the Rockies.

DeJong made the most of his lone hit of the contest, as he took German Marquez deep in the sixth inning for his 23rd homer of the season. Despite struggling to hit for a respectable average for the majority of the season, DeJong's power has remained consistent as he is on track to hit at least five home runs for the third consecutive month. The 26-year-old is hitting .247/.326/.460 across 519 plate appearances for the campaign.

Wendle (wrist) was feeling better Thursday, and the Rays hope he will be able to get back in rehab games soon, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

He was still feeling his wrist during a rehab game earlier this week, so he is currently pulled from game action, but it sounds like he could resume his assignment soon. The team says it will monitor how many swings he takes over the next couple days.

Swanson (foot) could be activated during this upcoming road trip if his first few rehab games with Low-A Rome go well, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

He begins his rehab assignment as the designated hitter Thursday for Rome. The Braves have a three-game series against the Mets that ends Sunday, then a makeup game in Colorado on Monday followed by a two-game series in Toronto, so Swanson could be an option in weekly leagues next week.

Tejada was designated for assignment Thursday.

He had zero hits in nine at-bats over six games with the big-league club. The 29-year-old infielder is unlikely to get claimed on waivers.

Volpe was sent to New Jersey to recover from a bout with mononucleosis, Jane Havsy of the Daily Record reports.

Volpe has been sidelined since Aug. 11 and has no announced timeline for his return. The Yankees' 2019 first-round draft pick is slashing .215/.349/.355 with two home runs and six steals through 34 games in rookie ball this year.
