Diaz left Friday's game against the Red Sox with left hamstring discomfort, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Diaz will be considered day-to-day until more information on his injury is revealed. He's scheduled to have an MRI on Saturday morning.

Diaz was lifted in the second inning of Friday's game against Boston with an apparent injury, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

The nature of the injury is unknown at this time, but Tony Kemp entered the contest in Diaz's place.

Herrera is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Mets, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Herrera heads to the bench for the third time in the last four games despite slashing an improved .292/.393/.333 over his last nine games, though that only raises his season OPS to .498. Jon Berti will bat leadoff and start in center field Friday.

Story (knee) is starting at shortstop and batting second Friday at Philadelphia, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Story was removed from Wednesday's game with a left knee bruise after colliding with a teammate in the field, but his quick return to action confirms his initial comments that the issue was minor. The 26-year-old has a modest six-game hit streak in which he is 10-for-28 with one home run, two doubles, eight runs scored and five RBI.

Turner (finger) was activated off the 10-day injured list Friday.

Turner had a two-game rehab stint at High-A Potomac earlier in the week, clearing the way for his return after missing the last six weeks with a fractured finger. The 25-year-old played in only four games before suffering the injury on a hit-by-pitch, and will slot into the leadoff spot in his first game back with the Nationals, per Brittany Ghiroli of The Athletic.

Rojas (ribs) is starting at shortstop and batting eighth Friday against the Mets, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Rojas was removed from Wednesday's game after an issue cropped up with his rib cage, but he's good to go following Thursday's scheduled off day. The 30-year-old will look to break out of his current slump, as he is 2-for-20 over his last six games.

Gordon went 0-for-4 in Thursday's loss to the Twins, his first game back in the lineup after not starting the last five contests due to a wrist injury.

Gordon had made appearances as a pinch runner and defensive replacement over the last pair of games, but he hadn't started since May 9, when he got hit on the wrist by the Yankees' J.A. Happ. The veteran infielder was enjoying a solid start to May prior to the injury, as he'd opened the month going 9-for-30 with a home run and four multi-hit tallies.

Rojas described the injury that took him out of Wednesday's game as an issue with his rib cage, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. "Nothing serious," Rojas said. "I don't think it's muscular or anything, or something that is going to keep me from playing. I feel one of my ribs went out of place. Every time I get it adjusted, I feel fine."

It doesn't sound like Rojas will be out for long, as he could return to the lineup as soon as Friday. The veteran shortstop is slashing .242/.299/.288 through 39 games and is still looking for his first homer in 2019 after launching a career-high 11 last year.

Smith went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base for Double-A New Hampshire on Thursday.

The 22-year-old was mired in a miserable slump to begin May, going 0-for-34 over an 11-game stretch before breaking out with two hits Wednesday, including a homer, and Thursday's three-hit performance. Smith's OPS is still .543 through 33 games -- slightly more than half the mark he posted at Low-A in his breakout 2018 -- but if he keeps stringing together good days, the Jays' No. 8 fantasy prospect will start to regain some of his luster.

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to Minnesota on Thursday.

The once-prized Phillies prospect's first home run in a Seattle uniform was the second of back-to-back jacks with teammate Ryon Healy. Crawford hasn't shown much in his time in the majors, but he did hit an impressive .319 with three homers at Triple-A Tacoma this season. He has now started six consecutive games for Seattle, though his playing time figures to lessen with the return of Dee Gordon (wrist).
