Gordon went 0-for-4 in Thursday's loss to the Twins, his first game back in the lineup after not starting the last five contests due to a wrist injury.

Gordon had made appearances as a pinch runner and defensive replacement over the last pair of games, but he hadn't started since May 9, when he got hit on the wrist by the Yankees' J.A. Happ. The veteran infielder was enjoying a solid start to May prior to the injury, as he'd opened the month going 9-for-30 with a home run and four multi-hit tallies.

Rojas described the injury that took him out of Wednesday's game as an issue with his rib cage, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. "Nothing serious," Rojas said. "I don't think it's muscular or anything, or something that is going to keep me from playing. I feel one of my ribs went out of place. Every time I get it adjusted, I feel fine."

It doesn't sound like Rojas will be out for long, as he could return to the lineup as soon as Friday. The veteran shortstop is slashing .242/.299/.288 through 39 games and is still looking for his first homer in 2019 after launching a career-high 11 last year.

Smith went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base for Double-A New Hampshire on Thursday.

The 22-year-old was mired in a miserable slump to begin May, going 0-for-34 over an 11-game stretch before breaking out with two hits Wednesday, including a homer, and Thursday's three-hit performance. Smith's OPS is still .543 through 33 games -- slightly more than half the mark he posted at Low-A in his breakout 2018 -- but if he keeps stringing together good days, the Jays' No. 8 fantasy prospect will start to regain some of his luster.

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to Minnesota on Thursday.

The once-prized Phillies prospect's first home run in a Seattle uniform was the second of back-to-back jacks with teammate Ryon Healy. Crawford hasn't shown much in his time in the majors, but he did hit an impressive .319 with three homers at Triple-A Tacoma this season. He has now started six consecutive games for Seattle, though his playing time figures to lessen with the return of Dee Gordon (wrist).

Baez went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Reds.

The Cubs had just four hits as a team, with Baez accounting for half of them. The 26-year-old just keeps hitting, as he now has a .326 average and .971 OPS to go along with 11 home runs, 29 RBI and 32 runs scored through 41 games.

Downs went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, three runs and four RBI for High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday.

Downs is swinging a hot bat for the Quakes, as he's now hitting .364 with a 1.119 OPS over his last 10 games. He's also launched four homers over that time to give him six on the season. The 20-year-old got off to a slow start, slashing .213/.276/.371 in April, but with 14 hits in his last 30 at-bats he has moved his average up to .247, and the recent power surge is an encouraging sign he's adjusting well in the California League.

Gordon (wrist) is back in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.

He will slot back in at second base and atop the order against right-hander Michael Pineda after missing close to a week with a wrist injury. This marks Gordon's seventh start in the leadoff spot in his last eight starts after he was stuck at the bottom of the lineup to begin the year. He's getting on base at a .336 clip, up from .288 a year ago, and is 11-for-13 in stolen-base attempts.

Urena was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.

Urena will take the roster spot of Teoscar Hernandez, who was sent to the minors in the midst of his early season struggles. The 23-year-old will likely operate as a utility infielder during his time with the big club. He appeared in 11 games for the Blue Jays earlier in the year, slashing .313/.333/.406 with three doubles in those contests.

Anderson is not in the lineup Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Anderson will retreat to the bench for Thursday's series opener following a string of 22 straight starts, a stretch during which he hit .244/.286/.407 with four homers and six stolen bases. Leury Garcia is starting at shortstop and hitting leadoff in place of Anderson in this one.

Adames went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run in a win over the Marlins on Wednesday.

Adames was the only member of the Rays to reach base more than twice in the low-scoring win. The young shortstop's .236/.319/.333 line still has plenty of room for improvement, but he's offering fantasy owners some reason for optimism at the moment. Factoring in Wednesday's production, Adames is hitting .333 (11-for-33) with three doubles, three RBI, seven walks and six runs over the 10 May contests for which he's suited up, raising his season average 36 points in the process.
