Seager (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery Friday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

After undergoing Tommy John surgery, Seager will begin a lengthy rehab process. Per Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers are hoping that Seager will be in full health by Opening Day for the 2019 season. With Seager out for the rest of the year, Chris Taylor will move from center field to shortstop.

Seager was diagnosed with a sprained UCL on Monday. He will undergo Tommy John surgery and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

This is an absolutely brutal blow for the Dodgers and Seager, who was placed on the disabled list Monday as a result of the injury. He dealt with an elbow injury towards the end of last season but ultimately opted to forgo offseason surgery. The issue stuck with him at the start of spring training, but it was thought to be behind him heading into the season before the ailment ultimately proved bothersome enough to require the season-ending procedure. Seager was hitting .267/.348/.396 with two homers through 26 games before his season came to an end. Chris Taylor is starting at shortstop in his stead Monday and will likely stick there for the remainder of the season.

Crawford is out of the lineup Monday against the Padres.

Crawford's tough stretch at the plate continued Sunday as he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout. Over the last seven games he's gone 3-for-24 (.125) with six strikeouts. He'll get the night off while Kelby Tomlinson starts at shortstop.

Seager is not on the lineup card for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Chris Taylor is starting at shortstop in his place, while Breyvic Valera is with the team. There has been no indication that Seager is dealing with any type of injury at this point, but his absence from the lineup card hints at a roster move, which could ultimately mean a DL stint for the shortstop.

Mondesi (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Monday.

Mondesi has just a .181/.226/.271 line in 209 major-league plate appearances, but he's just 22 years old and was probably called up too soon. His .305/.338/.538 line in 418 plate appearances at the Triple-A level suggests that he could eventually be a competent major leaguer, and he'll help out fantasy owners with a fair amount of steals. When exactly his next opportunity will come is not clear, though.

Gordon went 4-for-5 with an RBI single and a run in a win over the Indians on Sunday.

Gordon wreaked havoc out of the leadoff spot all afternoon, an increasingly common occurrence during what has been an excellent start to his first Mariners season. The 30-year-old went 6-for-9 with a double, Sunday's RBI, a stolen base and four runs over the final two games of the series against the Indians, and his season line now sits at .309/.339/.400 over 118 plate appearances. Even though Gordon's BABIP is a bloated .371, it's worth noting that he posted figures of .383 and .354 in that category with the Marlins in 2015 and 2017 while logging well over 600 plate appearances in both seasons.

Ahmed went 3-for-4 with a double in the Diamondbacks' 3-1 loss to the Nationals on Sunday.

With the lefty-hitting Jarrod Dyson receiving the day off against Nationals southpaw Gio Gonzalez, Ahmed moved into the two hole and was Arizona's most productive batter Sunday, finishing with his third three-hit performance of the season. Ahmed is expected to plummet to the bottom half of the order Monday with the Dodgers bringing righty Ross Stripling to the hill, but the shortstop should still make for a decent option in NL-only formats during the upcoming week while he continues to hold down a full-time role. Ahmed is hitting just .241 on the season but owns a respectable .794 OPS, 77 points greater than the career-best mark he posted in 2017.

Crawford was diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor pronator strain Sunday, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The current expectation is that Crawford will miss approximately two weeks to the injury, although a more definitive timeframe should become available as his rehab progresses. Until Crawford returns to full health, Scott Kingery will likely see the bulk of the time at shortstop.

Sardinas (back) was placed on the disabled list Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

At this point in time, the severity of Sardinas' injury is unknown, although additional information should become available soon. Prior to getting hurt, Sardinas had been serving as an infield reserve option for the Orioles, as Jace Peterson has been the team's primary option at second base with Jonathan Schoop (oblique) on the disabled list.

Sardinas is dealing with a sore lower back and isn't certain to be available off the bench Sunday against the Tigers, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Sardinas, who had been serving as the primary replacement at second base for Jonathan Schoop (oblique) during a spell earlier this month, had ceded those duties to waiver pickup Jace Peterson before the injury surfaced. The Orioles plan to evaluate Sardinas over the next day or two before determining if he'll need to join Schoop on the 10-day disabled list.
