Paul Hendrix SS | CLE
Paul Hendrix: Cut loose Thursday
Hendrix (biceps) was released by the Indians on Thursday.
Hendrix has compiled an unimpressive .237/.322/.340 slash line through two seasons at High-A Lynchburg, so the Indians decided to part ways with the 25-year-old. He's been sidelined all season with a biceps injury, so he'll likely have to get healthy before catching on with another team.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Marlins' Dee Gordon: Steals 40th base Wednesday
Gordon went 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, two stolen bases and three runs scored during Wednesday's win over Washington.
Gordon now sports a 13-game hitting streak and has eight stolen bases during that span. The speedster is up to a .300 batting average and .344 on-base percentage for the campaign, and as long as he's finding his way to first base, he's going to pile up runs and stolen bases in bunches. Considering his current form, Gordon has a legitimate chance to take over the league lead in stolen bases in the coming weeks.

Ruben Tejada SS | BAL
Orioles' Ruben Tejada: Moves down depth chart
Tejada will be moved down the depth chart and into a utility role following Monday's acquisition of shortstop Tim Beckham, Eduardo Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Beckham was the Rays' starting shortstop on Opening Day, and he'll man the spot until J.J. Hardy (wrist) returns. This move pushes Tejada out of regular work, thus making him fairly irrelevant for fantasy purposes.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Nationals' Trea Turner: Moving rehab to Florida
Turner (wrist) will head to the Nationals' spring training facility in West Palm Beach, Fla. later this week to continue his rehab, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.
Turner has already begun to do some light throwing and may soon start swinging a bat again with his fractured right wrist starting to show some improvement. The Nationals don't expect it to be long before Turner takes part in simulated games, followed by a rehab assignment soon after that. An exact return date hasn't been fleshed out for Turner, but with the news regarding his recovery sounding positive thus far, he's probably worth holding on to in most formats.

Shawn O'Malley SS | COL
Mariners' Shawn O'Malley: Heating up on rehab assignment
O'Malley (shoulder) has gone 6-for-9 with a home run and three RBI over the last two games of his rehab assignment with Double-A Arkansas.
O'Malley had produced only one hit in 19 at-bats in his previous six games with Arkansas, but his standout performances the last two days suggest that he might have knocked off the rust after being sidelined through early July while recovering from an appendectomy, followed by arthroscopic shoulder surgery. The utility man's rehab window will draw to a close soon, so he could be activated from the 60-day disabled list at some point later in August. O'Malley may occupy the bench role that Taylor Motter had previously filled for the Mariners before Motter was ultimately optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on July 24.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Drives in three Tuesday
Baez went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Baez proved that you only need to connect on one pitch to be productive sometimes. He's hitting just .188 over his last 10 games but he has three home runs and seven RBI during that stretch, making the youngster a fairly boom-or-bust fantasy option at the moment.
-
Johan Camargo SS | SF
Braves' Johan Camargo: Launches third homer Tuesday
Camargo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.
His eighth-inning blast, Camargo's third homer of the year, accounted for the Braves' only offense on the night. The 23-year-old has the shortstop position to himself right now while Dansby Swanson tries to get right down at Triple-A, but Camargo's slashing just .246/.269/.431 since the All-Star break and still profiles as a utility player in the long term.
-
Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Astros' Carlos Correa: Works out Tuesday
Correa (thumb) had his first day of workouts after undergoing surgery July 19, David Barron of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Correa said he was a bit winded but he needs to maintain his conditioning while the thumb recovers. The 22-year-old shortstop is due back sometime in September.

Taylor Featherston SS | MIN
Rays' Taylor Featherston: Back in Tampa Bay
Featherston was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
With Tim Beckham having been dealt to the Orioles just before the trade deadline, Featherston will head back to the majors to fill his spot on the active roster. Despite the promotion, the 27-year-old looks like nothing more than a bench option, given his awful .161 career batting average in the big leagues.

Chris Owings SS | LAD
Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Slated for surgery Monday
General manager Mike Hazen confirmed Owings (finger) will undergo surgery Monday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. He's expected to miss around eight weeks.
Owings was placed on the 60-day disabled list earlier Monday after an X-ray revealed a fracture in his middle finger. He's expected to miss most (if not all) of the remainder of the season, and this doesn't appear to change his return timetable, as the Diamondbacks are still hopeful he'll be able to return for a potential playoff run.
