Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Marlins' Dee Gordon: Extends hitting streak to eight games Thursday
Gordon went 3-for-8 with a run scored in Thursday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.
He's now hit safely in eight straight games, pushing his slash line on the season to .293/.310/.341 in 42 plate appearances. Gordon's ability to beat out a bunt or infield hit at any time should allow him to bounce back significantly from last year's ,268 batting average.

Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD
Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Picks up three hits Thursday
Rojas went 3-for-7 in Thursday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.
That doubles his hit total on the season, and Rojas is now hitting .286 (6-for-21) with two runs scored and two RBI. The 28-year-old has shown he can make consistent contact in the minors, including a .301/.343/.430 line in 65 games for Triple-A New Orleans in 2015, so don't be surprised if he collects a few more hits while filling in at shortstop for Adeiny Hechavarria (oblique).

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Makes pinch-hit appearance Thursday
Crawford (personal) grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning Thursday, Andrew Baggarly of the Bay Area News Group reports.
The shortstop left the team Wednesday after his wife's oldest sister passed away, but he rejoined the club Thursday around game time and served a role off the bench. Crawford probably will return to the starting lineup Friday.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Pops first homer of season Thursday
Story went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Giants.
His fourth-inning blast off Madison Bumgarner was his first homer of the season. Story's April so far in 2017 has been a far cry from last year's, as he's slashing just .143/.268/.314 through 11 games, but Thursday's dinger might have been just what he needed to get going.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Cracks first home run Thursday
Anderson went 1-for-6 with a home run and two runs scored in Thursday's 10-4 win over the Indians.
With Tyler Saladino getting a night off, Anderson was moved up the leadoff spot and opened the game with a homer. That's good, but Anderson's not a traditional leadoff bat and has been even less so in 2017. He hasn't walked over his first 36 plate appearances and has swung at 56.6 percent of the pitches he's seen (13th in MLB), including 44.4 percent of offerings outside the zone (sixth). Manager Rick Renteria said during spring training that he has no qualms about using Anderson atop the order, but it appears his bat might play better further down.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Gone due to family emergency
Crawford is not with the Giants for Thursday's game against the Rockies due to a family emergency, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The Giants refused to elaborate on the situation, so not much else is currently known. He should be considered day-to-day for the time being, but expect an update on his status once more information is available.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Out of lineup again
Crawford is not in the lineup Thursday against the Rockies, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
After starting all of the Giants' first eight games, Crawford has now been held out of the lineup for two of the last three contests. There hasn't been any word of an injury at this point, though it'll definitely be something to monitor moving forward as it seems unlikely that he would be rested in games so close to each other.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Batting eighth Thursday
Baez is in the Cubs' lineup Thursday against the Dodgers, batting eighth and playing second base.
The infielder returns to the lineup because Los Angeles is starting left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu. Whenever he's starting, the powerful Baez should try to find his way into fantasy players' plans in daily transactions leagues, as well.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Three hits in Wednesday's loss
Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 12-5 loss to the Orioles.
He had just two hits on the season coming into the game, but it was only a matter of time before Bogaerts began to bust out at the plate. The 24-year-old is coming off a career year, but given his age and offensive potential, the best may be yet to come.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Reaches Mendoza line
Anderson went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Indians.
Anderson's batting average finally reached .200 after spending the first six games of the season below the Mendoza line. Over 30 at-bats, he has six singles, one RBI, no walks and a team-leading 10 strikeouts. Manager Rick Renteria said the second-year shortstop's been chasing pitches outside the zone, according to Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune.
