Turner went 2-for-6 with a stolen base in Saturday's 9-4 extra-inning loss to the Rockies.

The dynamic leadoff man continued to be a highly effective table-setter Saturday, getting on base twice and swiping his 17th bag of the season. Turner has now rattled off five consecutive multi-hit efforts, although he's only managed one extra-base hit, a double, over that span. However, the 23-year-old continues to put together a spectacular rookie campaign, slashing .341/.363/.532 over 173 at-bats.

Gordon is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Robert Andino will man second base and lead off against lefty Clayton Richard following his two-hit effort Friday night, as Gordon sits for a second straight game. Gordon did end up coming off the bench and logging three at-bats Friday, finishing 0-for-3, so it doesn't seem as though an injury is in play. Gordon is batting .286 and is 8-for-12 in stolen base attempts in August.

Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a run in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Royals.

Although he was overshadowed by the standout performances of Dustin Pedroia and Mookie Betts, Bogaerts broke out of an 0-for-10 stretch over his previous three games with Friday's production. He's come back down to earth in the second half and is slashing an anemic .215/.275/.258 in August, but his season average is still a stellar .308.

Baez is in Saturday's lineup against the Dodgers.

After finding himself on the bench Friday, he will get the start at second base in Los Angeles. Baez will face Julio Urias, against whom he went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI in an earlier matchup.

Anderson went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs against the Mariners on Thursday.

He went hitless Wednesday but still has eight base knocks over the last four games, with three of those going for extra bases (two doubles and a triple). The rookie shortstop's shown surprising pop since being called up (seven homers, 16 doubles), but his speed's shown up surprisingly little (six steals in eight tries over 64 games) and he has struggled mightily with his plate discipline (7:78 BB:K). Anderson was always a high-BABIP hitter in the minors but he'll find it hard to sustain his current .376 mark in that category as a major leaguer, so his long-term success will hinge on the improvement of his batting eye.

Gordon is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Padres, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

This looks like a routine day off for Gordon after a stretch of 24 starts in 26 games since his return from suspension. Despite an 0-for-5 showing Thursday, Gordon is still batting .295 for the month although just two of his 26 hits have gone for extra bases. He's also been caught four times in 12 attempts on the basepaths in August.

Ahmed successfully underwent knee surgery Friday, Jack Magruder of FanRagSports.com reports.

After the procedure finished, Ahmed was able to ride a stationary bike. News regarding his return for the 2017 campaign should become available as Ahmed gets deeper into the rehab process. For the remainder of the 2016 season, Jean Segura and Chris Owings will likely share time at shortstop.

D'Arnaud is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks.

D'Arnaud has failed to capitalize on his limited opportunities this month, going 6-for-33 with one extra-base hit and nine strikeouts. He figures to continue seeing only sporadic starts around the infield, and his at-bats may be dialed back even further in September if the team opts to focus on evaluating more promising young talent.

Pennington is not in the lineup Thursday against the Blue Jays, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Pennington has become the preferred option at second base, starting five of the previous six games, but his struggles at the plate this season (.227 average) could loosen his grip on a regular role. Gregorio Petit will get the call at the keystone Thursday and bat ninth.

Swanson is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

Swanson will have Wednesday night off and give way to Chase d'Arnaud at shortstop. Since joining Atlanta on Aug. 17, Swanson has posted a .292/.308/.333 line over six games. He'll likely return to the lineup Thursday for Atlanta's series finale against Arizona.
