Baez (back) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game in Toronto.

Baez missed the final contest before the All-Star break, and the time off wasn't enough to get him back in the lineup. The Tigers had expressed optimism earlier this week that Baez could avoid the injured list, but it's not a good sign that five days of rest was insufficient. Zach McKinstry will handle shortstop Friday.

The Athletics selected Wilson's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

It was reported Thursday that Oakland would be calling up Wilson for Friday's second-half opener versus the Angels, and he's now officially been added to the 26-man and 40-man rosters. The 22-year-old was selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft and has posted a 1.161 OPS with eight homers and two steals in 46 games between the Double-A and Triple-A levels this season. He should take over the starting job at shortstop from Max Schuemann.

Bichette (calf) will start at shortstop and bat fifth in Friday's game against the Tigers.

Bichette missed the final four games of the first half with a strained right calf, but the additional rest over the All-Star break appears to have been enough to get him healthy. The shortstop will carry a disappointing .596 OPS into the second half.

Rocchio is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Padres.

Rocchio sat out two of the Guardians' final three games leading up to the All-Star break and will remain out of the starting lineup Friday. The 23-year-old is 0-for-12 in his last four starts. Daniel Schneemann will bat seventh and play shortstop.

Triple-A Durham reinstated Basabe (wrist) from the 7-day injured list Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Basabe has been shelved for most of this season after suffering a fractured right wrist back in mid-April, but he's ready to play for Durham again after completing a 12-game rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate, during which he posted a .945 OPS. posting a .945 OPS and a 9:1 BB:K. The 23-year-old had started games at shortstop, second base and third base with Durham before getting hurt and should go back to bouncing around the infield at the Triple-A level.

The Athletics will promote Wilson from Triple-A Las Vegas ahead of Friday's game versus the Angels, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Since being selected in the first round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, Wilson has quickly ascended through the Athletics' farm system. This season, he's slashed .427/.459/.673 with seven homers and 31 RBI across 183 plate appearances between Double-A Midland and Triple-A Las Vegas. The 22-year-old has played exclusively at shortstop during his time in the minors, and he'll likely claim the starting job from Max Schuemann immediately upon joining the big-league roster.

Perdomo (hamstring) was activated from the 60-day injured list Monday and debuted in the Dominican Summer League.

He has gone 1-for-4 with one strikeout in two games since getting activated. Perdomo was one of the top international prospects to sign this year on Jan. 15, but he dealt with a significant hamstring injury that delayed his pro debut.

Triple-A Iowa placed Vazquez on its 7-day injured list Friday with an unspecified injury.

Vazquez is on Iowa's IL for the second time in less than a month, though it's unclear if his latest injury is related to the previous one. He got a brief cup of coffee with the Cubs in late May but has otherwise spent the entire 2024 season at Iowa, where he's slashed .255/.347/.389 with five home runs and one stolen base over 244 plate appearances.

Correa (heel) was removed Monday from the American League All-Star Game roster and was replaced by the Rangers' Corey Seager, the Associated Press reports.

Though Correa is still expected to attend All-Star festivities in Arlington, Texas this week, his removal from the roster comes as little surprise after he missed the Twins' final two games before the break due to plantar fasciitis in his right heel. Dan Hayes of The Athletic relays that Correa's latest case of plantar fasciitis isn't as severe as his bout with the injury to his left foot during 2023 season, but it's not yet clear whether Correa will be back in action when the Twins return to action Saturday versus the Brewers.

Moore went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to the Angels on Sunday.

Moore reached safely for the fourth time in his last five starts and recorded his fourth steal over the last eight games in the process. The veteran heads into the All-Star break with a serviceable .714 OPS, but the extra-base hits that have played a large role in that figure and become his calling card have surprisingly dried up of late. Moore has just one hit greater than a single in his last 15 games, and he heads into the pause in play with a 17-game home-run drought.
