Gavin Lux SS | TB
Rays' Gavin Lux: Cold hitting in rehab assignment
Lux (shoulder/ankle) went 1-for-3 with two walks and a run scored Tuesday in a rehab game for Triple-A Durham.
Lux has hit safely in each of his last three outings since resuming his rehab assignment following a brief setback. The infielder, who's recovering from a right should impingement, sprained his left ankle April 11 with Durham, but he should be able to make his season debut with the Rays at some point in early May if all goes smoothly. Through 40 minor-league at bats, Lux is hitting just .150 with three doubles, 11 walks and five RBI.

George Lombard SS | NYY
Yankees' George Lombard: Moving up to Triple-A
The Yankees are promoting Lombard from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilke-Barre, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Lombard got off to a blazing beginning at the plate with Somerset, slashing .324/.414/.595 with four home runs, eight doubles, 18 runs, 10 RBI and four stolen bases over 19 contests. Yankees GM Brian Cashman said during the winter that Lombard is already MLB-ready in terms of his defense, and the 2023 first-round draft pick is now one step away from reaching the majors despite not yet turning 21 years of age. Lombard could get his first taste of big-league ball at some point this season if he continues to perform well at Triple-A.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Phillies' Trea Turner: Collects four hits Tuesday
Turner went 4-for-5 with an RBI single and two runs scored during the Phillies' 7-0 win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Turner set a new season high in hits Tuesday, and he came home to score on a Brandon Marsh sacrifice fly and a Bryce Harper double in the fourth and sixth frames, respectively. Turner's approach at the plate has been better as of late following a slow start, with the veteran shortstop having slashed .271/.358/.441 with two steals, three home runs, seven RBI and an 8:9 BB:K over his last 15 games.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Exits with cramps
Swanson was removed from Tuesday's game against the Padres with a left glute cramp, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Swanson hit a two-RBI double and stole a base in the second inning but was replaced on defense to begin the bottom half of the frame. The Cubs may decide to sit him down Wednesday as a precaution, which would give Matt Shaw or Nicky Lopez a start in the infield.

Wenceel Perez RF | DET
Tigers' Wenceel Perez: Goes deep in loss
Perez went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to Atlanta.
Perez entered the game as a defensive replacement due to Javier Baez departing with an ankle injury, and the former got Detroit on the board with his home run in the top of the ninth inning. The 26-year-old outfielder has gone deep twice in 15 games since getting recalled from Triple-A Toledo, but he's done very little else offensively. Perez is slashing just .116/.156/.412, which limits his fantasy appeal, though he could see more starts in the short term if Baez has to miss time.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Carted off field
Baez was removed from Tuesday's game against Atlanta with an apparent right ankle injury, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Baez made an awkward slide into first base during the fifth inning of Tuesday's contest and had to leave the game in a cart. The Tigers will presumably send him in for imaging to determine the severity of his injury, at which point more will be known regarding his short-term availability. Any missed starts for Baez would likely lead to increased playing time in the outfield for Wenceel Perez and also make it easier for Gleyber Torres, Colt Keith and Kevin McGonigle to make regular starts in the infield.

Chase Meidroth 2B | CHW
White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Resting Tuesday
Meidroth is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Angels.
Until Tuesday, Meidroth had started in 11 consecutive games since sitting April 15. The infielder went 15-for-44 with a RBI, two doubles and five walks in that span. Sam Antonacci and Luisangel Acuna are starting in the middle infield for the White Sox on Tuesday.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Still sitting Tuesday
Perdomo (ankle) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers.
Perdomo sustained a left ankle sprain Saturday against the Padres and is being held out of the starting nine Tuesday for a second consecutive game. Jose Fernandez is receiving another start at shortstop in his place while James McCann enters the lineup at catcher.

Oneil Cruz CF | PIT
Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Back in action Tuesday
Cruz (illness) is starting in center field and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Cardinals.
The 27-year-old was scratched from the lineup for Monday's series opener due to an illness but is good to go for Tuesday's contest. Cruz has gone 0-for-10 with five strikeouts in his past two games but overall has been productive during the first month of the campaign with eight home runs, 10 steals, 24 RBI, 19 runs and an .838 OPS in 27 games.

Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Taking live batting practice
Pena (hamstring) began taking at-bats in live batting practice Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Pena was cleared to begin running last week, and he appears to be making strides in his recovery from a right hamstring strain now that he's received the green light to face live pitching. Manager Joe Espada added that the 28-year-old infielder is close to beginning a rehab assignment in the minor leagues, though he remains without a firm return timeline.
