Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX
Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Stays hot Wednesday
Duran went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and an additional RBI in Wednesday's victory over the Tigers.
Duran has multiple hits in four straight contests and eight of his last 10 starts. He's hit a home run in back-to-back games against the Tigers and collected eight extra-base hits, five RBI and eight runs during his 10-game hot streak. While he's been on another level recently, Duran has been a steady contributor all season for the Rangers, slashing .322/.364/.555 with 11 home runs, 33 RBI and 33 runs scored across 61 games (225 plate appearances). The 24-year-old can play infield or outfield, but he appears to have solidified himself as Texas' primary left fielder moving forward.

Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Doubles in loss
Ahmed went 1-for-3 with a double in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Rays.
Ahmed was in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay righty Zach Eflin. The shortstop typically doesn't start against right-handers, but the Diamondbacks have seen a string of them lately. His previous start was a week ago, June 22, also against a righty. Ahmed has just 30 plate appearances during the month of June, and the job share between he and Geraldo Perdomo that started the season now tilts heavily in favor of the latter.

Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Tallies three RBI in win
Tovar went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs and three RBI in a 9-8 win against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Tovar came up with arguably the biggest hit for the Rockies in the victory, clearing the bases with a double in the sixth inning to turn a one-run deficit into a two-run lead. The shortstop extended his hitting streak to 11 games, a stretch during which he is slashing .356/.362/.578 with two homers, nine RBI and six runs. The hot streak has pushed Tovar's season slash line to .266/.301/.432 over 286 plate appearances.

Anthony Volpe SS | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Notches steal
Volpe went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 11-0 win over the Athletics.
Volpe has found some success at the plate recently, going 6-for-11 over his last three games. His steal Wednesday was his 16th of the season but just his third in four attempts in June. The shortstop is up to a .208/.285/.374 slash line with 10 home runs, 28 RBI, 29 runs scored, 10 doubles and two triples through 80 contests. He continues to hold down a consistent spot in the bottom third of the order.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Hits ninth home run
Swanson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies.
Swanson took Philadelphia starter Aaron Nola deep in the fourth inning, giving him three home runs over his past nine games and nine total for the season. The recent power surge is promising, though the shortstop remains off the pace of the 25 home runs he swatted last year and the 27 he popped in 2022, both with Atlanta.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Gets breather Wednesday
Perdomo is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Rays.
Nick Ahmed will start at shortstop for the first time since last Thursday and Jake McCarthy will fill the leadoff role. Perdomo is sitting on a six-game hitting streak and boasts a strong .296/.396/.452 batting line across 240 total plate appearances this year.

Tucupita Marcano 2B | SD
Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Out versus lefty
Marcano isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Padres, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
With left-hander Blake Snell set to start on the mound for San Diego, the left-handed bat of Marcano will remain in the dugout for the beginning of Wednesday's game. Nick Gonzales will instead start at shortstop, allowing Rodolfo Castro to start at the keystone and bat fifth.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Out with bruised elbow
Abrams (elbow) is not in the lineup Wednesday at Seattle, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Abrams made an early exit from Tuesday night's game after taking a pitch off his right elbow, though it doesn't seem to be an overly serious concern. Ildemaro Vargas will play shortstop and bat sixth for the Nationals on Wednesday as Abrams grabs some rest and treatment.

Andrew Velazquez SS | TEX
Angels' Andrew Velazquez: Nabs another steal
Velazquez entered as a pinch runner in Tuesday's win over the White Sox, logging a stolen base and scoring a run.
Velazquez hasn't gotten a start since Saturday, but he's still making an impact, swiping a bag as a pinch runner twice in the past three days. The shortstop has demonstrated excellent acumen on the basepaths over the past two seasons, collecting 23 thefts on 25 attempts in 135 games. However, he's batting just .198 during that span, which has prevented him from holding onto an everyday role.
