Beck didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Rangers, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks in three innings. He struck out one.

The 27-year-old right-hander made his major-league debut, serving as New York's bulk reliever behind opener Paul Blackburn on Thursday. Beck wasn't all that effective, however, recording just three whiffs and tossing only 28 of his 52 pitches for strikes. Ryan Weathers was scratched from his scheduled start Thursday due to an illness, so Beck may have been making just a spot appearance for the Yankees and could soon rejoin Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The Tigers reinstated Anderson from Triple-A Toledo's 7-day injured list on Thursday, Emily Waldon of Baseball America reports.

Anderson was placed on the 7-day injured list due to an unspecified injury on April 5. The 24-year played in some rehab games with Single-A Lakeland, where he went 4-for-13 with two home runs, four RBI, a stolen base and two free passes.

The Red Sox recalled Gasper from Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

With Roman Anthony (wrist) headed for the IL, Gasper will come up from the minors to add depth to Boston's bench. The 30-year-old backstop owns a .445 OPS through 133 career plate appearances in the big leagues but has performed much better this year at Worcester, where he's slashed .295/.426/.524 over 27 games.

The Red Sox placed Anthony (wrist) on the 10-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to Tuesday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

The Red Sox were holding out hope that Anthony would be able to avoid a trip to the IL after he sprained his wrist during Monday's game, but the team didn't like the idea of playing with a short bench for another few days. The 21-year-old will be eligible to return to the lineup May 15. Until then, Masataka Yoshida figures to continue benefitting from additional starts at DH.

Ragans was diagnosed with valgus extension overload in his left elbow Thursday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Ragans' elbow forced him to make an early exit from his start Wednesday after three innings. The Royals are going to allow the 28-year-old lefty to rest for a few days and see how he feels before determining next steps. Ragans said Thursday that he has already begun to feel better since leaving Wednesday's game, per Rogers, which bodes well for his chances of avoiding a trip to the IL.

Estevez (foot) was diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain Thursday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Estevez made his first rehab appearance in the minors Wednesday as part of his recovery from a left foot injury, but he was removed after just two-thirds of an inning after displaying diminished velocity. Now that he's been officially diagnosed with a strained rotator cuff, the Royals will shut him down from throwing for three weeks before reevaluating him, at which point he may be cleared to restart a throwing program. Lucas Erceg will continue to work as Kansas City's go-to closer while Estevez is out.

The Yankees are calling up Castro from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.

Castro made his last appearances in the MLB during the 2022 season, when he was with the Giants and Cubs. He made just 10 appearances during that season and had a 10.22 ERA with a 1.78 WHIP and a 11:7 K:BB through 12.1 innings. For Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2026, the 27-year-old has a 3.14 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP and a 10:4 K:BB across 14.1 innings.

The Yankees are calling up Jones from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.

Jones' promotion comes to fill the void of Jasson Dominguez, who is heading to the injured list with a sprained AC joint. Jones, one of the Yankees' top prospects, has slashed .258/.366/.592 with 11 home runs, 41 RBI and seven stolen bases across 142 plate appearances for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on the season. The 24-year-old outfielder should figure to see some at-bats due to both Dominguez and Giancarlo Stanton (calf) being out with injuries.

The Twins optioned Klein to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The move comes in order to make room for Yoendrys Gomez, who was acquired by the Twins from the Rays on Wednesday. Klein made one appearance up with the big club Saturday, in which he tossed a perfect inning against the Blue Jays.

Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy said Thursday that Anthony (wrist) will be placed on the 10-day injured list, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Anthony hasn't played since suffering a sprained right wrist in Monday's game versus the Tigers. The injury hasn't gotten worse, but Anthony wasn't going to be able to play for at least a few more days, and the Red Sox didn't want to continue playing a man short. He will have a chance to be activated when first eligible late next week, though that possibility should become clearer over the next few days. Masataka Yoshida will continue to get increased reps at designated hitter while Anthony is shelved.
