Fry was removed from Tuesday's game against the Tigers after getting hit in the head by a foul ball, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Fry was hit in the face after fouling off an attempted bunt in the sixth inning. He was carted off the field immediately afterward and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. The Guardians should provide an update on his status in the near future.

Pena (oblique) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Athletics.

Pena was a late scratch from the lineup Sunday due to oblique soreness, and he'll need to miss at least one more start Tuesday while he recovers. Mauricio Dubon will take over at shortstop for the Astros and bat ninth.

Manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Seager (abdomen) will miss the rest of the season, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Seager recently resumed light baseball activities after undergoing an appendectomy in late August, but the team won't bother rushing him back now that they sit five games back of a wild-card spot with only six left to play. Despite missing time this year with hamstring injuries in addition to his recent procedure, the 31-year-old slashed .271/.373/.487 while collecting 21 home runs, 50 RBI, 61 runs and three stolen bases across 102 games.

Manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Semien (foot) will not play again this season, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Semien resumed taking live BP and running Friday, but with the Rangers five games out of a wild-card spot with six to play, the team will pull the plug on its efforts to get the veteran infielder back in the lineup this year. He'll close the book on 2025 with a career-low .669 OPS alongside 15 homers, 62 RBI, 62 runs scored and 11 steals through 127 games. Cody Freeman projects to be the Rangers' primary second baseman for the remainder of the regular season.

Woo (pectoral) won't start in his usual rotation spot Thursday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

General manager Justin Hollander said Tuesday that the team still doesn't plan to place Woo on the injured list, and that the right-hander will instead play catch Wednesday or Thursday rather than start a game against the Rockies. A better idea of how far away the 25-year-old is from returning will likely emerge after his throwing session.

The Blue Jays placed France on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with left oblique inflammation.

France's injury will force him to miss the remainder of the regular season, though he will be eligible to return before the start of the ALDS. His move to the IL will clear a roster spot for Anthony Santander (shoulder), who was activated from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

The Blue Jays reinstated Santander (shoulder) from the injured list Tuesday.

Santander had been out since late May with a left shoulder injury but began playing in rehab games with Triple-A Buffalo on Sept. 11. Since starting up his assignment, the 30-year-old slugger has gone 7-for-32 (.219) with two homers, five RBI and four runs scored across 10 games. Now fully healthy, he'll likely take over as Toronto's primary designated hitter for the remainder of the regular season and postseason despite posting a .577 OPS in 209 plate appearances before going down. Ty France (oblique) was placed on the IL in a corresponding move, and Alek Manoah was DFA'd to clear space on the 40-man roster.

Baez was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's game versus Cleveland due to neck stiffness.

Baez will take a day off to rehab his neck injury, opening up an opportunity for Trey Sweeney to start at shortstop and bat ninth for the Tigers.

Walter (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery Monday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The Astros announced that Walter was slated for elbow surgery a couple of weeks ago, but now that we know he specifically underwent a Tommy John procedure, it's safe to assume the left-hander won't return to a big-league mound until 2027. It's a notable loss for the Astros' rotation, as Walter finished his first season in Houston with a 3.35 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over 53.2 innings spanning nine starts.

Detmers said Tuesday that tests on his left elbow showed no structural damage so he does not need surgery, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Detmers said he is planning a normal winter in terms of offseason work. As for his role next year, he added that he would prefer to start but will do whatever the teams asks of him. The southpaw pitched in 61 games in 2025 but made no starts after spending the first four seasons of his career in the majors as exclusively a starter while posting a 4.90 ERA.
