Hoskins (back) is feeling better but has not yet resumed baseball activity, MLB.com reports.

Hoskins landed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 19 with back tightness and is eligible to be activated when ready. Cleveland is getting by at first base with Nathaniel Lowe (against righties) and David Fry (against lefties).

Martinez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 8-3 loss to the Royals.

Martinez gave the Guardians an early lead, belting a two-run homer in the second inning, and then singled in an insurance run in the bottom of the ninth. Chase DeLauter, who served as the designated hitter the last two days, is dealing with a nagging hamstring issue, which could open up playing time. Martinez is enjoying his best season in the majors, posting a .712 OPS along with 13 home runs, 48 RBI and 11 steals across 94 games and 341 plate appearances.

Fry started at first base and went 1-for-1 with a walk and a double in Saturday's 8-3 loss to Kansas City.

Fry was in the starting lineup for the first time since being recalled Aug. 19, slotting in at first base against a left-hander. He was eventually pinch hit for by Nathaniel Lowe against a right-handed reliever. Lowe remains the starter at first base, getting starts whenever the Guardians face a right-hander. Fry will remain the primary backup until Rhys Hoskins (back) comes off the injured list.

Sears tossed 2.2 scoreless innings of relief in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers. He allowed two hits and struck out one.

Sears allowed five runs in four innings in his MLB debut back on Aug. 23, but he looked much sharper in his second appearance. The lefty was impressive against a tough Los Angeles lineup, and he provided a bridge to former Dodger closer Kenley Jansen, who picked up a one-out win. Sears may not have a ton of fantasy value in long relief this year, but he could make a case for a 2027 rotation spot if he pitches well during his audition.

Hicks will serve as the White Sox's opening pitcher for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Hicks will be making his second start of the season, but since he hasn't been tasked with recording more than five outs in any of his 43 appearances to date, he won't offer much length. The White Sox haven't designated a bulk reliever to work behind Hicks, though Jose Urquidy would appear to be the most likely candidate to handle those duties.

Butler went 1-for-3 with an RBI, a steal and two walks in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Orioles.

Butler reached base three times, including an RBI walk in the sixth inning to get the Athletics on the board. After singling in the ninth frame, the outfielder stole his 10th base of the season. Butler has put together a strong August, slashing .295/.385/.505 with six homers, 15 RBI, 15 runs and four stolen bases across 26 tilts. Overall, he's hitting .228/.326/.371 with 12 homers, 43 RBI and 53 runs over 128 games.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Rodriguez will start Monday against the Angels in Anaheim, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Summoned from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last week to fill the vacant fifth spot in the rotation, Rodriguez came through with his best performance to date in the majors, yielding three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision against the Astros. Though Max Fried returned from the injured list Saturday to give the Yankees five healthy starters, a doubleheader that day created a stretch of six games in five days, so Rodriguez will stick around as a temporary sixth starter. The Yankees are likely to option Rodriguez to Triple-A or shift him to the bullpen following his start Monday.

Manager John Schneider said Tuesday that Yesavage (knee) continues to play catch off flat ground, and the Blue Jays are still hoping the right-hander can return from the 15-day injured list in late September, MLB.com reports.

After undergoing left meniscus surgery Aug. 11, Yesavage was cleared to begin a throwing program about a week later. While he's said to be showing good range of motion with his knee, the Blue Jays haven't yet given him the green light to advance to mound work. Yesavage still has enough time to get cleared for game action before the end of the season, but if he ends up returning in the final week or two of September, he won't be stretched out enough for a full starting role.

Taillon (forearm) is scheduled to throw a side session Tuesday before the Blue Jays determine whether he returns from the 15-day injured list or makes another rehab appearance at Triple-A Buffalo, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Taillon made his first rehab start for Buffalo on Friday, covering 48 pitches over 3.1 innings while yielding four earned runs on three hits and two walks. The veteran right-hander seemed to check out fine physically coming out of that outing, but the Blue Jays will get a closer look at him during the upcoming bullpen session before plotting out his next steps. If Toronto decides to bring Taillon back from the IL to fill the fifth spot in the rotation during next weekend's series in Kansas City, he would likely be operating with a restricted pitch count.

Neto went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-2 extra-inning loss to the Phillies.

The Angels couldn't get much of anything going against Cristopher Sanchez, but Neto tied the game with a solo shot off reliever Jonathan Bowlan in the eighth inning. Neto has found some production late in August, going 18-for-47 (.383) with eight extra-base hits and 12 RBI over his last 11 games. For the season, the shortstop is batting .236 with a .750 OPS, 23 homers, 18 stolen bases, 65 RBI, 85 runs scored, 27 doubles and four triples, providing reliable counting stats despite a slight drop in his rate stats this year.
