Brown (12-8) was charged with the loss Friday against the Mariners, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out nine.

That makes it seven consecutive starts of at least six innings for the All-Star right-hander, who piled up his most punchouts since his June 26 start against the Phillies. Each of those last seven outings have been quality starts, and Brown hasn't conceded more than two runs since July 20 in Seattle. Brown's last appearance of the regular season tentatively projects to come against the division-rival Athletics in Sacramento. Through 180.1 innings, Brown has a 2.30 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 201:55 K:BB for the first 200-strikeout season of his career.

Messick didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Twins, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk in 5.1 innings. He struck out nine.

Messick appeared to be on his way to notching the win, but the Twins were able to scratch across a pair of runs in the sixth inning to tie the game. It was still a very promising showing by the rookie southpaw, who racked up a season-high nine strikeouts and produced an impressive 18 whiffs. Messick has shown plenty of potential overall since being called up by Cleveland, turning in a 2.08 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB over 34.2 innings. His last outing of the regular season is set to come against the division-rival Tigers.

Mahle pitched 4.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts and took a no-decision in Friday's extra-innings loss to the Marlins. He allowed four hits and one walk.

The Texas right-hander returned from a shoulder injury that had kept him out since mid-June. Mahle showed up with his swing-and-miss stuff, as he generated an impressive 12 whiffs out of his 68 total pitches to notch six or more Ks for the third time this season. Overall, the free-agent-to-be has produced a 2.20 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 62:28 K:BB in 81.2 innings across 15 appearances. Mahle currently projects to make his next start against one of his former clubs, the Twins, at home next week.

Tellez hit a two-run homer in a pinch-hit appearance during Friday's extra-innings loss to the Marlins.

The Texas slugger launched a titanic 425-foot, two-run blast off Miami reliever Michael Petersen in the 10th to tie the game at 3-3. Tellez has fallen out of an everyday role in Texas, as Jake Burger has overtaken the starting role at first base. Through 43 total games with Rangers, Tellez is now batting .270 (27-for-100) with five homers, 17 RBI and 12 runs scored since joining the club in mid-July.

Mountcastle went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 4-2 win over the Yankees.

Mountcastle got the scoring started with a solo shot in the second inning before adding a sacrifice fly in the sixth. While the 28-year-old has hit safely in five of his past six contests, he's gone just 9-for-43 with two extra-base hits in September. For the year, he's slashing .256/.292/.372 with six home runs, 33 RBI, 32 runs scored and three steals across 336 plate appearances.

Naylor went 2-for-4 with four RBI in Friday's 6-2 win over Minnesota.

Naylor matched a career high in RBI, extending his hitting streak to seven games as well. The catcher is also riding a four-game RBI streak, during which he's totaled 10 of his 42 RBI for the season. Naylor is certainly getting hot at the right time for the playoff-hopeful Guardians, batting .302 over 43 at-bats in the month of September despite hitting a dismal .191 for the campaign.

Massey went 4-for-5 with a homer, a double, a walk, three RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's 20-1 victory over the Blue Jays.

Massey set a new career best by tallying four hits in this contest while driving home four for the fourth time. His performance was highlighted by a 393-foot, two-run blast off Toronto starter Max Scherzer in the opening frame. Massey, who is currently fills a bench role in Kansas City, is now slashing .231/.257/.300 with three homers, 19 RBI and 16 runs scored across 262 total plate appearances.

Lewis went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Friday's 6-2 loss to Cleveland.

Although it's been a lost season for the most part for Lewis -- he has a .680 OPS in 2025 -- it's certainly an encouraging sign to see how active he's been on the basepaths lately. The oft-injured third baseman has 11 of his 12 steals for the year over his last 25 outings, which signals that he's fully healthy as the campaign draws closer to an end. Lewis is flashing the upside that made him the No. 1 overall pick back in 2017, hitting .275 and slugging .461 with seven extra-base hits and 19 RBI over his last 102 at-bats.

Caglianone went 2-for-5 with a homer, a walk, four RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 20-1 victory against the Blue Jays.

The rookie put up a career-high four RBI, matching his total across 14 games in September prior to this contest. Three of those runs were knocked home when Caglianone launched a 406-foot long ball off position player Tyler Heineman in the seventh. The 22-year-old's first big-league campaign has been tough, as he's now slashing .163/.237/.301 with seven homers, 18 RBI and 18 runs scored through 215 plate appearances.

Woo was pulled from his start Friday against Houston due to pectoral tightness, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Woo pitched five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out seven batters before his pec forced him to come out of the game while he was warming up for the sixth. He's expected to undergo an MRI on Saturday to determine the severity of his injury, at which point more will be known about his chances to make his next start -- tentatively scheduled to come Thursday against the Rockies.
