Rasmussen allowed three hits and three walks across five scoreless innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Guardians. He struck out two.

While the Rays ultimately came up short Sunday, it was an encouraging effort from Rasmussen after he allowed three home runs to the Mariners in his last outing. The 30-year-old Rasmussen's ERA is down to 2.64 on the year with a 0.98 WHIP and 117 strikeouts through 28 starts (139.2 innings). He's currently scheduled to face the Cubs on the road his next time out.

Smith earned the save in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Rays, striking out three in a perfect ninth inning.

Smith has turned in three straight perfect outings following a stretch of seven appearances (5.2 innings) during which he allowed seven earned runs while taking a pair of blown saves. Overall, Smith is 11-for-16 in save opportunities while posting a 3.25 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP and 88:13 K:BB across 63.2 innings this season.

Messick (2-0) earned the win Sunday over the Rays, allowing one run on eight hits across six innings. He struck out four.

Messick allowed at least one hit in every inning, though he was able to navigate through traffic, holding Tampa to a Carson Williams solo homer. Overall, it was an encouraging outing from Messick after he gave up three runs on nine hits in just 3.2 innings his last time out against the Red Sox. The rookie left-hander sports a 1.93 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP and 18:3 K:BB through his first four major-league starts (23.1 innings). Messick's currently lined up to face the White Sox at home in his next outing.

Sugano was removed from Sunday's start against the Dodgers due to right foot discomfort, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The right-hander surrendered four earned runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- across his first three innings before being struck by a comebacker in the fourth inning, which ended his day. Sugano limped off the field after the incident and should be considered day-to-day as he continues to be evaluated.

Tellez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

He will hit the bench for the fourth game in a row, with two of his absences coming against left-handers and two coming against right-handers. Tellez had been occupying the strong side of a platoon at first base, but Jake Burger, who was reinstated from the injured list Monday, appears to have overtaken him as the Rangers' top choice at the position. Tellez initially found some success after being promoted from Triple-A Round Rock on July 18, but over his last 10 games, he's gone just 4-for-26 with no walks and 10 strikeouts.

Osuna is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

The left-handed-hitting Osuna had started in right field for the last three matchups against right-handed pitchers, but he'll give way to Cody Freeman while the Astros send southpaw Framber Valdez to the hill. With Adolis Garcia (quadriceps) on the injured list, Osuna looks poised to occupy a strong-side platoon role in the corner outfield in the short term.

Pederson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

Pederson will join fellow left-handed hitters Alejandro Osuna, Josh Smith, Rowdy Tellez and Dustin Harris on the bench as the Rangers stock up on right-handed bats to counter southpaw Framber Valdez. Jonah Heim will assume designated-hitter duties with Pederson out of the lineup.

The Angels optioned Silseth to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

The right-hander was promoted from Salt Lake on Saturday and will return to Triple-A after giving up a run over 1.2 innings against the A's. Silseth has made four appearances in the majors this season and has allowed just one earned run with a 6:5 K:BB across four frames.

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Sanchez was in the lineup for the first two games of the series while the Rangers sent right-handers to the hill, but he'll take a seat Sunday with southpaw Patrick Corbin on the bump. Cam Smith will take over in right field.

The Angels selected Peralta's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

The left-hander joined the Halos on a minor-league deal in May and will now receive a look in the majors. Peralta posted a 4.33 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 70:14 K:BB across 70.2 innings with Salt Lake this season and is likely to fill a low-leverage relief role for the Angels.
