Moore will start in right field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

With Dominic Canzone tending to a bruised arm, Moore will draw a second straight start in right field, after he went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-4 loss. The Mariners have faced left-handed starters Tuesday and Wednesday, so the right-handed-hitting Moore may have been included in the lineup more so for matchup reasons than due to any major concern about the health of the left-handed-hitting Canzone, who should see the bulk of the starts in right field versus right-handed pitching.

After suffering a bruised left arm when he was hit by a pitch in Monday's 12-7 loss, Canzone will remain on the bench for the second day in a row Wednesday, though the left-handed-hitting outfielder may not have started anyway with southpaw Jesus Luzardo on the bump. Dylan Moore will make another start in right field in Canzone's stead. According to Adam Jude of The Seattle Times, manager Dan Wilson said that Canzone is still managing some swelling on the arm and is considered day-to-day, but Thursday's team off day could provide enough time for the 28-year-old to recover ahead of Friday's series opener versus the Athletics.

Polanco is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Philadelphia.

The switch-hitting Polanco has now been excluded from the lineup for the third time in the Mariners' last four matchups versus left-handed starters, as southpaw Jesus Luzardo will be on the hill for Philadelphia on Wednesday. Polanco -- who is slashing just .242/.286/.348 versus lefties this season -- will again give way to Mitch Garver at designated hitter.

Naylor is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Philadelphia.

The left-handed-hitting Naylor will get a day off as the Phillies send southpaw Jesus Luzardo to the bump. Donovan Solano will handle first base and bat sixth for Seattle.

The Rays announced Tuesday that Bigge (lat/face) has resumed playing catch, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Initially placed on the injured list May 6 due to a right lat strain, Bigge's recovery program from that injury was stalled when he was hit in the face by a foul ball while he was in the dugout during a June 19 game against the Orioles. He sustained multiple facial fractures and required surgery, but he feels fully healed from that injury and has now turned his focus back to rehabbing his strained lat. As a reliever, Bigge won't require the extended build-up that a starter would coming off a lat injury, but since he hasn't yet resumed mound work, he's likely at least a couple weeks away from returning from the 60-day injured list.

The Rays announced Tuesday that Lavender is scheduled to have surgery in the near future to remove a bone spur in his left elbow and will miss the remainder of the season, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

A Rule 5 selection over the winter, Lavender has resided on the Rays' injured list all season while on the mend from a May 2024 internal brace procedure on his elbow. Lavender was expected to be healthy enough to pitch during the second half of the season, but after developing the bone spur at some point in the ramp-up process, he never advanced to a minor-league rehab assignment. On a positive note, Lavender doesn't appear to be dealing with any new ligament damage to his surgically repaired elbow, so the procedure to address the bone spur may not affect his availability for the start of spring training.

The Rays announced Tuesday that Faedo (shoulder) underwent thoracic outlet syndrome surgery Aug. 6 and will miss the remainder of the season, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Acquired from the Tigers in February, Faedo will conclude the season without having made an appearance at the big-league level for Tampa Bay. He's been on the shelf throughout 2025 after experiencing shoulder discomfort in spring training and then hitting multiple snags in his recovery in the ensuing months. Faedo had made enough progress to begin a minor-league rehab assignment June 27, but he appeared in just six contests before being shut down again shortly after the All-Star break and getting diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome. Given that pitchers often struggle to bounce back from the procedure, Faedo profiles as a likely non-tender candidate this winter. Even if he keeps his spot on the 40-man roster or re-signs with Tampa Bay on a minor-league deal, Faedo's availability for the start of the 2026 season could be affected.

The Rays announced Tuesday that Fairchild (oblique) has yet to resume baseball activities since being placed on the 10-day injured list July 23, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Fairchild's lack of notable progress nearly a month into his recovery from a left oblique strain suggests that he's unlikely to make his return from the IL before the end of August. The Rays could have a crowded outfield by the time Fairchild moves past the oblique injury, so it wouldn't be surprising if he were designated for assignment once he gets activated.

Clement is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Pittsburgh.

Clement will get a rare day off after having started every game for the Blue Jays since July 11. Addison Barger will cover third base for Toronto in Wednesday's matinee.

Guerrero (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Pittsburgh.

Guerrero will sit out for a second straight game after he tweaked his left hamstring in Monday's 5-2 loss. He's been diagnosed merely with inflammation rather than a strain, so Guerrero could be ready to play Friday in Miami after the Blue Jays' team off day Thursday. Ty France will again cover first base for Toronto in Wednesday's series finale.
