The Red Sox will recall Bennett from Triple-A Worcester to start Wednesday's game against the Rays at Tropicana Field, Andrew Mahoney of The Boston Globe reports.

As anticipated, Bennett will be stepping into the rotation spot vacated by Brayan Bello, who was optioned to Triple-A last week. Though he reached five innings in both of his first two big-league starts back in early May against the Astros and Rays, Bennett yielded five earned runs on 11 hits and four walks while striking out four across 10.1 frames. However, the 25-year-old lefty has performed as one of the top pitchers in the International League this season, running up a 1.49 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 41:9 K:BB in 42.1 innings over 10 starts for Worcester. With Bello now in the minors and Garrett Crochet (lat) weeks away from a return from the injured list, Bennett could have a pathway to an extended run in the big-league rotation if his performance warrants it.

Melton (3-0) picked up the win Tuesday, giving up four runs on eight hits over five innings in a 10-4 victory over the Twins. He struck out five without walking a batter.

The lack of free passes saved Melton's bacon, as he served up four solo homers on a night when the ball was flying out of Comerica Park. The right-hander has more than held his own in four starts since coming off the IL for his season debut in late May, posting a 2.81 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB in 25.2 innings, but with Tarik Skubal (elbow), Casey Mize (thigh) and Justin Verlander (hip) all on track to make their own returns over the next week or so, Melton's spot in the rotation is far from secure. The 25-year-old does appear set to make at least one more start for the Tigers, on the road early next week in Houston.

Paredes is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Tigers in Detroit, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Before receiving his first big-league call-up May 31, Paredes had mostly been working out of the rotation at Triple-A St. Paul, with whom he produced a 3.38 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 33:8 K:BB in 34.2 innings. Though he's worked out of the bullpen over his first week and a half with the Twins, Paredes has been able to stay stretched out by making a pair of 3.2-inning appearances in long relief. He'll be pitching on five days' rest Wednesday, so Paredes should be capable of giving the Twins plenty of length in his first big-league start before turning the game over to the bullpen.

Buxton went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Tigers.

Back in the lineup after a two-game absence due to a shoulder bruise, Buxton was in his usual spot in center field and as the leadoff hitter, and he demonstrated he was healthy by crushing the first pitch he saw from Troy Melton over the fence in left-center field. It was Buxton's 19th homer of the season in 56 games, and he's slashing .255/.316/.554 with five steals, 29 RBI and 42 runs.

Bradley (5-3) took the loss Tuesday, coughing up five runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and three walks over 4.1 innings as the Twins fell 10-4 to the Tigers. He struck out three.

The ball was flying out of Comerica Park as the two teams combined for eight homers, and Bradley took his share of the damage as he served up long balls to Dillon Dingler in the first inning, Riley Greene in the second and Kerry Carpenter in the fifth. It marks the first time since April 24 that the right-hander has been taken deep multiple times in a game, but Bradley's been struggling since returning from a pectoral strain in late May, posting a 7.00 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and 21:12 K:BB over his last four starts and 18 innings. He'll try to regain his early-season form in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Cardinals.

Wilson (thumb) has gone 3-for-9 with two RBI and a 1:2 BB:K in his first three rehab games between High-A Everett and Triple-A Tacoma.

Wilson began his rehab assignment with Everett last Friday and moved up to Tacoma on Tuesday. He's been shelved since early May with a fractured left thumb and could need a few more rehab games before the Mariners consider returning him to their active roster.

Dingler went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and three runs Tuesday in the Tigers' 10-4 win over the Twins.

After batting just .140 over his final 12 games of May, Dingler has sizzled at the plate since the calendar flipped to June. Dingler has fueled the Tigers' 6-1 start to the month, slashing .393/.438/1.000 with five home runs, 14 RBI and nine runs. The 27-year-old has been an excellent value pick for fantasy managers, as he currently ranks third among all catchers in home runs (16), seventh in runs (32) and first in RBI (48) on the season.

Joyce (shoulder) was sent to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday to resume a rehab assignment.

Joyce had to be pulled off his initial rehab assignment because his surgically repaired right shoulder wasn't recovering well in between outings. He's now ready to give things another try and should eventually move his rehab up to Triple-A Salt Lake before zeroing in on a return to the Angels.

Mayo went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Mariners.

The 24-year-old came up clutch, taking Jose Ferrer deep in the ninth inning to help the Orioles erase a 4-2 deficit, only for the M's to re-take the lead for good in the top of the 10th. Mayo hasn't had multiple hits in a game since May 24, but four of his nine homers on the season have come in his last 10 games, a stretch in which he's slashing a lopsided .189/.231/.541 with a 38.5 percent strikeout rate. Mayo's power is legit, but until he learns to make more consistent contact he'll be tough to rely on in most fantasy formats.

Rogers didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Mariners, giving up three runs on six hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out three.

The southpaw pounded the strike zone and got lifted after 97 pitches (71 strikes) with two on and two outs in the sixth inning, coming up just short of his fourth quality start of the season and his first since April 7. It's been a tough year so far for Rogers, but June has begun in encouraging fashion as he's allowed four runs in 11.1 innings over two starts (3.18 ERA) with a 6:2 K:BB. He'll look to build on those efforts in his next outing, which is set to come at home this weekend against a Padres squad that sits dead last in the majors in wOBA versus left-handed pitching.
