The Guardians promoted Bazzana from Double-A Akron to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft will make the jump to the highest level of the minors after batting .256 with five home runs and nine stolen bases over 228 plate appearances at Akron. The 22-year-old will look to finish the 2025 campaign on a high note at Columbus before likely making his MLB debut at some point in 2026.

Cecconi (5-5) took the loss Sunday against the White Sox, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk over three innings. He struck out four.

The 26-year-old righty struggled in this short 68-pitch outing, as he conceded multiple homers for the first time in his last four starts. Over his past three previous appearances, Cecconi pitched well, tossing 19 frames with a 3.32 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB. He yielded both long balls in the first, with Lenyn Sosa popping a two-run homer and Colson Montgomery knocking a solo shot. Cecconi will carry a 4.11 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 73:24 K:BB across 85.1 innings into his next start, which currently lines up to be at home against Atlanta next weekend.

Taylor picked up the save in Sunday's 6-4 win against Cleveland, pitching a clean inning with one strikeout.

The flamethrowing right-hander secured his first save since July 4 with this succinct, eight-pitch effort. Since that date, Taylor had been respectable in 9.2 frames across nine appearances with a 3.72 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB. Since July 4, the White Sox have notched only four saves as a team -- Jordan Leasure with two and Dan Altavilla and Steven Wilson with one apiece. The Chicago closer race is still wide open, and Taylor, who now owns a 3.91 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB over 23 total innings, remains one of the better high-leverage options for manager Will Venable.

Martin (4-9) earned the win Sunday against the Guardians, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts over five innings.

The Chicago right-hander looked sharp through the first five frames in this 97-pitch performance, conceding just one run on a solo homer to Kyle Manzardo in the fourth. Martin then unraveled in the sixth, as he allowed the first two runners to reach, both of whom subsequently scored after reliever Brandon Eisert entered. Through 101.1 total innings, Martin sports a 4.17 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 70:31 K:BB while allowing 15 long balls. He's currently slated to make his next appearance at Kansas City next weekend.

Manzardo went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the White Sox.

The Cleveland slugger posted his third career multi-homer game and second of the season in the series finale at Chicago. Manzardo cracked a 408-foot solo shot off White Sox starter Davis Martin in the fourth before returning in the seventh to slug another solo homer off reliever Jordan Leasure. The 25-year-old has been hot since the All-Star break, batting .368 (21-for-57) with five long balls, 15 RBI and seven runs across 18 contests. Through 368 total plate appearances, Manzardo is slashing .244/.323/.485 with 20 homers, 52 RBI and 34 runs scored.

Narvaez (knee) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, but Red Sox manager Alex Cora confirmed that the catcher will return to the starting nine for Monday's series opener in Houston, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Narvaez hasn't played since Tuesday while he's managed a sore left knee, but Cora noted that the backstop will be available off the bench Sunday. Connor Wong had filled in for Narvaez in each of the Red Sox's previous three games, and Cora said that he elected to stick with Wong behind the dish Sunday because he typically serves as starter Brayan Bello's personal catcher. Once he returns to the lineup Monday, Narvaez should resume handling his usual duties as Boston's No. 1 backstop.

Wong will start at catcher and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Padres.

Wong will draw his fourth straight start behind the plate while top backstop Carlos Narvaez (knee) remains day-to-day. Per Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald, manager Alex Cora said that Narvaez is available for Sunday's series finale, but the Red Sox are electing to stick with Wong since he serves as starting pitcher Brayan Bello's personal catcher. Cora added that Narvaez will return to the lineup Monday in Houston, and Wong is likely to see his playing time tail off as a result.

Toro is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Toro started at first base in the first two games of the series and went 1-for-8 with a walk and a run scored between those contests, but he'll give way to Romy Gonzalez in the finale. The two should continue to share the first-base position moving forward, with Toro likely getting the bulk of the starts against right-handed pitching.

Schneider is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

While the Blue Jays went up against left-handed starting pitchers in the previous three contests, Schneider led off in each of those games and went a collective 4-for-13 with two home runs, one double, one walk and four RBI. Schneider should remain a regular in the lineup against lefties, but he'll retreat to the bench Sunday while right-hander Tyler Glasnow toes the rubber for the Dodgers.

Straw is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

While the Blue Jays went up against left-handed starting pitchers in the previous three contests, Straw was included in the lineup for each of those games and went 2-for-10 with a walk and a run scored. Straw will return to his normal bench role for Sunday's finale while the Dodgers send right-hander Tyler Glasnow to the hill.
