Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Set for Tommy John surgery
Kochanowicz will undergo Tommy John surgery, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Kochanowicz landed on the injured list Sunday due to right elbow inflammation, and an MRI revealed Tuesday that he suffered a torn UCL. The procedure will bring his season to an early end and force him to miss most, if not all, of the 2027 campaign as well.

Cole Ragans RP | KC
Royals' Cole Ragans: Bullpen session on tap
Ragans (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Wednesday will mark the first time that Ragans has thrown off a mound since he suffered a setback in late May during his rehab assignment at Triple-A Omaha. He remains without a clear return timeline, but that may change after a few sessions of mound work.

Carson Fulmer RP | PIT
Mariners' Carson Fulmer: Traded to Seattle
The Pirates traded Fulmer to the Mariners on Tuesday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
Fulmer has spent the entire season at Triple-A Indianapolis, posting a 6.35 ERA and 1.65 WHIP alongside a 27:15 K:BB across 34 innings. The 32-year-old's performance is unlikely to improve significantly now that he'll be moving into the Pacific Coast League, but he'll still provide some organizational bullpen depth at Triple-A Tacoma.

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Back in lineup
Schanuel (ankle) is starting at first base and batting fifth versus the Astros on Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Schanuel sat out Monday's series opener against the Astros due to lingering left ankle soreness that stemmed from the left ankle tendinitis he returned from June 6. Trey Mancini started at first in place of Schanuel on Monday, but he's back on the bench Tuesday.

Samuel Basallo C | BAL
Orioles' Samuel Basallo: Managing wrist issue
Basallo is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners due to left wrist pain, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
According to Jake Rill of MLB.com, Basallo has dealt with some discomfort and pain in his left wrist throughout most of his life, and he was diagnosed with a bony growth in the wrist Monday after the issue resurfaced. The 21-year-old should now have better path to treatment and could look for a more permanent solution during the offseason.

Cole Sands RP | MIN
Twins' Cole Sands: Pulled off rehab assignment
The Twins returned Sands (forearm) from his rehab assignment Tuesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Sands made his first rehab appearance at Triple-A St. Paul last Tuesday, but his strained right forearm didn't recover quickly enough to allow him to continue pitching. The Twins will now shut down his rehab assignment and give him more time to rest and receive treatment before restarting a throwing program. He's without a clear timeline for returning from the 15-day injured list.

Adley Rutschman C | BAL
Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Out of lineup again Tuesday

Rutschman will ride the bench for the second game in a row after starting each of the team's previous 11 contests. Sam Huff will once again start at catcher and bat ninth Tuesday. The Orioles have yet to announce an injury, but Rutschman is presumably dealing with something given that he has an .832 OPS through 48 games this season and is batting .360 (9-for-25) in June.

Colson Montgomery SS | CHW
White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Battling back tightness
Montgomery is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta due to back tightness, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
It's unclear when the injury first surfaced for Montgomery, as he started the previous four games and is coming off a team day off Monday. The issue doesn't seem to be a serious concern, so the 24-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now. Luisangel Acuna is starting at shortstop Tuesday while top prospect Braden Montgomery was called up to make his MLB debut in the outfield.
