The Rays didn't clarify whether Lowe suffered the injury during his first-inning at-bat or during his two innings in the field. Regardless, Lowe's early exit ended up spelling an end to his 20-game hitting streak, which tied a franchise record. According to Topkin, Jose Caballero had been scheduled to receive Sunday off while he dealt with right arm soreness, but he was pressed into action at second base following Lowe's departure. The Tigers recalled Guenther from Triple-A Toledo and placed him on the 60-day injured list while he recovers from a left hip arthroscopy.

Guenther had resided on Toledo's 7-day IL since May 30, but he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment at High-A West Michigan about three weeks later. The southpaw reliever hadn't pitched for West Michigan since June 25, however, and an explanation behind his absence has now been provided by the Tigers. He'll be added to the Tigers' 60-day IL in what's essentially a procedural move, as Guenther is considered likely to miss the rest of the season, per Chris McCosky of The Detroit News. The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for lefty PJ Poulin, whose contract was selected from Triple-A.

The Tigers selected Poulin's contract and optioned him to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

Detroit placed lefty Sean Guenther (hip) on the 60-day injured list to clear up a spot on the 40-man roster for Poulin, whose contract contained an upward-mobility clause that would have allowed him to pursue opportunities elsewhere if the Tigers didn't promote him, per Evan Woodbery of MLive.com. Though he'll remain with Toledo, Poulin's presence on the 40-man roster will now make it easier for the Tigers to add him to the 26-man active roster when the team is need of a bullpen arm. The 28-year-old lefty has submitted a 3.72 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 54:14 K:BB in 36.1 innings over 29 appearances (three starts) for Toledo this season.

Caballero was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins due to right arm soreness, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

The 28-year-old was penciled in to start at shortstop, but he instead ended up being removed from the lineup card. The specifics of the injury aren't clear, so Caballero should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener versus Detroit. Taylor Walls replaced him and will bat seventh.

The Yankees optioned Sandridge to Triple-Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

The left-hander allowed two runs over two-thirds of an inning during his MLB debut Saturday against the Mets, and he'll now head back to the minors. Sandridge has a 0.87 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB in nine appearances with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season.

Taylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Taylor was on the bench Thursday after sustaining a left trap contusion a night earlier, but he returned to the lineup for the White Sox's first two games in Colorado, starting in left field and going 3-for-8 with a home run, a double and four RBI. Though the absence of Luis Robert (hamstring) leaves an everyday role available in the outfield, Taylor may have to share playing time in center with Brooks Baldwin, who will remain in the starting nine for a fourth straight contest.

Teel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Teel will rest for Sunday's day game after he went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run while catching all nine innings of Saturday's 10-3 win. Edgar Quero will spell Teel behind the plate.

Taylor (hand) recently had his brace removed and has begun participating in "light baseball activities," per MLB.com.

Taylor suffered a fractured left hand when he was hit by a pitch during a game in early June. The utility man seems unlikely to be ready to return until after the All-Star break, though the Angels haven't specified a timeline for his activation. Taylor will likely serve in a part-time role when he's ready to play again.

Hartlieb signed a major-league contract with the Yankees and was selected to the active roster Sunday.

The right-hander elected free agency after being designated for assignment by the Yankees a few days ago, and he's quickly back on the MLB roster. Hartlieb allowed three earned runs over one inning during his lone appearance with New York and should fill a low-leverage relief role.

Dominguez (back) picked up his second save of the season in Sunday's 2-1 win over Atlanta, striking out two while allowing one earned run on two hits over one inning.

Dominguez wasn't available for either of the Orioles' previous two games due to a sore back, but interim manager Tony Mansolino was comfortable turning to the right-hander to protect a two-run lead in the ninth inning Sunday with normal closer Felix Bautista being rested following appearances on both of the past two days. The save didn't come easily for Dominguez, who gave up a one-out solo home run to Sean Murphy before Ozzie Albies singled to put the tying run on base. However, Dominguez settled in thereafter, striking out Drake Baldwin and then inducing a weak grounder from Michael Harris to close out the contest. The 30-year-old Dominguez has posted a 3.31 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 47:20 K:BB across 35.1 innings this season while working primarily in a setup role.
