Pinango will start in left field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Toronto will include Pinango in the starting nine for a fifth straight game after he went 2-for-12 with a home run and two RBI in his first four contests following his call-up from Triple-A Buffalo over the weekend. The 24-year-old looks like he'll have the opportunity to play regularly in left field while Jesus Sanchez (ankle) is on the injured list.

The Blue Jays recalled Clase from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.

Clase received his first call-up of the season after the Blue Jays had a need for an extra bat while George Springer (personal) is on the paternity leave list. Springer is expected to be away from the team for just 1-to-3 days, so Clase's stay with the big club will likely be a brief one. The switch-hitting outfielder has produced a .223./321/.359 slash line with five home runs and 17 steals over 53 games at Triple-A this season.

McMahon (illness) is dealing with food poisoning and will no longer play a rehab game Wednesday with Double-A Somerset, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

The goal is for McMahon to play in Thursday's game instead, and if he feels well, he will still return from the 10-day injured list Friday. McMahon landed on the IL last week with a throat and ear infection.

Buxton (hip) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

The Twins are viewing Buxton day-to-day while he recovers from a right hip impingement, which will keep him on the bench for a third consecutive game. Minnesota is off Thursday, so Buxton's condition will presumably be reassessed Friday, when the team opens a three-game series versus the Yankees. Ryan Kreidler will pick up another start in center field Wednesday in place of Buxton.

Isbel (foot) will continue his rehab in Arizona to begin July with the hope of embarking on a rehab assignment before the All-Star break, MLB.com reports.

Isbel was diagnosed with a Grade 3 tear of a portion of his left plantar fascia after being placed on the injured list June 10. The center fielder is now targeting a rehab assignment before the All-Star break after beginning to swing June 17, which would represent a relatively quick return to game action given the severity of his injury. Before being sidelined, Isbel slashed .244/.298/.354 with three homers, 11 RBI, 16 runs and five stolen bases across 56 games.

Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

The Yankees will go with Ben Rice at first base and Amed Rosario at designated hitter in the series finale, leaving no room in the starting nine for Goldschmidt. Though he's been productive on the whole during his age-38 season with an .867 OPS, Goldschmidt has gone 0-for-16 with one walk over the Yankees' last five games.

Pasquantino (hand) will continue his rehab in Arizona to begin July with the hope of embarking on a rehab assignment before the All-Star break, MLB.com reports.

Pasquantino hit the injured list June 14 and underwent surgery to remove a fractured hamate bone in his right hand, with an initial recovery timeline of 4-to-6 weeks. Based on that timetable and recent indications, the first baseman isn't expected to rejoin the Royals before the All-Star break, though a minor-league rehab assignment before the break seems to be the tentative plan. Pasquantino is hitting .224/.309/.350 with six homers, 32 RBI, 28 runs and three stolen bases across 68 games this season.

Scherzer (back/side) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Vancouver on Friday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Scherzer will rejoin the Blue Jays in Seattle on Saturday following the outing and throw a bullpen session Sunday before the team determines his next step. The 41-year-old is expected to require multiple rehab starts, so he will not rejoin the Toronto rotation before the All-Star break. Scherzer has been out since mid-June with back spasms and also needed a cortisone injection for soreness in his left side. He has a 10.23 ERA in six starts for the Blue Jays in 2026.

Jensen went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Rays.

Jensen jumped on the first pitch he saw from the leadoff spot, sending it over the right-field fence to give the Royals an early 1-0 lead. The homer extended the catcher's hitting streak to 20 games, the longest active streak in the majors. During the streak, the 22-year-old is slashing .346/.382/.630 with five homers, eight doubles, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored. Overall, Jensen is hitting .251/.316/.446 with 12 homers, 17 doubles, 46 RBI, 40 runs scored and one stolen base across 79 contests this season.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Jones is recovering from food poisoning and is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

A stomach bug seems to be making its way around the Yankees clubhouse, as Boone acknowledged that Ryan McMahon (throat infection) won't play in a rehab game Wednesday as planned after also coming down with the same ailment, per Hoch. The Yankees are off Thursday, so with two days to rest up and recuperate from the stomach illness, Jones could be ready to play in Friday's series opener versus the Twins.
