Pederson went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI during Monday's 7-3 win over Seattle.

Pederson got the Rangers on the board early with a leadoff homer off George Kirby before adding a three-run blast in the second inning to extend Texas' lead to 4-1. It was the second multi-HR game of the season for Pederson and brought him up to 19 long balls on the year, which is more than double is total from 2025 (nine). He's in the midst of a 10-game on-base streak, during which he has gone 14-for-36 (.389) with one steal, five home runs and nine RBI.

Garcia (elbow/neck/biceps) has been pulled off his rehab assignment and will be examined by a doctor for possible thoracic outlet syndrome, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

It's the third time this season that Garcia has had to be yanked off his rehab assignment, as he continues to deal with nerve issues related to his biceps and neck. Garcia has not made an appearance for the Blue Jays in 2026 and is slated to reach free agency after the season.

Sanchez (ankle) is on track to return from the 10-day injured list Friday against the Cardinals, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Sanchez has played three rehab games thus far and will move his assignment up to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday. He will play a couple more contests at the team's top minor-league affiliate before getting reinstated Friday if all goes well. Sanchez has been shelved since late June with a sprained right ankle. He should step back in as Toronto's primary left fielder upon his return.

Barger is expected to be sidelined six months following surgery Monday to repair his right elbow UCL, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The good news is Barger did not require a full Tommy John repair, which means he is expected to be ready in time for the start of spring training as long as his rehab proceeds smoothly. Barger played only nine games for the Blue Jays this season due to injuries.

Martinez is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Cincinnati.

Martinez started in right field each of the last three days upon his return from the injured list, but he'll grab a seat in Monday's series opener. Chase DeLauter is handling right field Monday, Jose Ramirez will be the designated hitter and Gabriel Arias will play third base while Martinez gets a breather.

The Blue Jays placed Fisher (personal) on the bereavement list Monday.

Fisher's father passed away unexpectedly earlier this month, so the right-handed reliever is likely just taking some time away from the team to be with family. Per MLB rules, players placed on the bereavement list have to miss a minimum of three games and a maximum of seven, so Fisher won't be available for at least the entirety of the Blue Jays' series in Washington that runs Monday through Wednesday.

Gimenez is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Nationals.

The Nationals are going with a lefty bulk reliever in Andrew Alvarez, so the lefty-swinging Gimenez will begin the contest on the bench. Ernie Clement will slide over to shortstop, and Luis Urias is getting a start at second base.

Romo is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Yankees.

Romo and Edgar Quero have split catching duties down the middle since Kyle Teel (ankle) went down, drawing three starts apiece. It will be Quero behind the dish in Monday's series opener.

The Blue Jays reinstated Scherzer (back/thumb) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Monday in Washington.

Scherzer will be making just his seventh start of the season for the Blue Jays and his first since June 10 after an extended stay on the shelf due to back spasms in addition to a thumb issue that cropped up during his rehab. The veteran righty surrendered seven runs (six earned) over the first two starts of his rehab assignment, but he proved that he was ready to rejoin the big club after striking out seven over five perfect innings during his most recent outing with Triple-A Buffalo last Wednesday. Scherzer tossed 56 pitches in that rehab start, so he'll likely be in store for a suppressed workload Monday as he slots back into the Toronto rotation.

Montgomery (shin) will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup in Monday's tilt against the Yankees.

Montgomery exited Saturday's game versus the Astros after fouling a ball off his right shin and then sat out Sunday's contest. He's ready to roll now for the series opener against the Bronx Bombers.
