Codi Heuer RP | CLE
Guardians' Codi Heuer: Rejoins big club
The Guardians recalled Heuer from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.
The right-hander was demoted to Columbus on Monday but will return to the big-league roster a day later with Peyton Pallette going on the paternity list. Heuer made his only MLB appearance of the season Sunday versus Cincinnati, giving up one run on three hits with two strikeouts and a walk over two innings.

Patrick Bailey C | CLE
Guardians' Patrick Bailey: Out of lineup again Tuesday
Bailey is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.
It's the second straight day on the bench for Bailey, who has yet to start consecutive games since arriving in Cleveland via trade. Austin Hedges is behind the dish for the Guardians again Tuesday, and the two backstops figure to continue sharing the job pretty evenly.

Emmanuel Rodriguez CF | MIN
Twins' Emmanuel Rodriguez: Needs surgery to repair thumb
Rodriguez needs surgery to repair UCL damage in his left thumb, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Rodriguez previously had surgery on his right thumb for an injury that cost him much of the 2024 season, and he dealt with a left thumb issue for part of the 2025 season. It's yet another injury concern for Rodriguez, who has yet to play 100 games in a minor-league season due to various injury problems.

Ryan Jeffers C | MIN
Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Slated to miss 6-to-8 weeks
Jeffers needs surgery to remove a fractured left hamate bone and is expected to be sidelined 6-to-8 weeks, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.
The Twins announced Jeffers' placement on the injured list earlier Tuesday, and surgery is typical for this type of injury. The timeline puts Jeffers on the shelf until around July 1 in a best-case scenario, and it's possible he won't make it back until after the All-Star break. In the meantime, Victor Caratini will receive the lion's share of the reps at catcher for Minnesota.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Rejoining lineup Tuesday
Buxton (hip) is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.
The 32-year-old center fielder hasn't seen the field in nearly a week due to right hip flexor soreness, but he'll return to the starting nine Tuesday versus Houston righty Lance McCullers. Buxton will attempt to pick up where he left off, as he was in the midst of a hot streak prior to the absence with 12 homers and a 1.075 OPS over his previous 20 games.

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Orioles' Pete Alonso: Records first three-hit game
Alonso went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 16-6 loss to the Rays.
Alonso registered his first three-hit performance of the year Monday, as well as his third multi-hit effort in his last five games. The All-Star first baseman is still slashing a career-low .225/.307/.423 with eight home runs, 12 doubles and 26 RBI across 205 plate appearances, but he's fared better at the dish recently. Over his last 20 outings, Alonso has gone 20-for-75 (.267) with five homers, six doubles and 16 RBI.

Bryce Miller SP | SEA
Mariners' Bryce Miller: Will be piggybacked Tuesday
Miller will start Tuesday's game against the White Sox and will be piggybacked by Luis Castillo out of the bullpen, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Miller and Castillo both made their own starts last week following the former's return from the injured list, but the two will work in tandem Tuesday while the Mariners condense their rotation from six to five. Mariners manager Dan Wilson hasn't provided an indication of how the innings will break down between the two pitchers, but after covering 5.1 frames in Houston last Wednesday in his 2026 big-league debut, Miller could work deep enough into his start against Chicago to qualify for a win. The Mariners will likely see how both Miller and Castillo fare Tuesday before determining whether to keep the piggyback arrangement in place the next time the fifth spot in the rotation comes up.

Max Schuemann LF | NYY
Yankees' Max Schuemann: Steals two bags Monday
Schuemann went 1-for-2 with two walks, a run and two stolen bases in a 7-6 win over Toronto on Monday.
Schuemann got the start at third base before shifting over to left field late in the game. He made the most of the opportunity, reaching three times and swiping his first two bags of the campaign. Schuemann ranks in the 64th percentile in sprint speed leaguewide, but he had been 0-for-2 in theft attempts coming into Monday. He holds a fine .286/.474/.429 slash line across 19 plate appearances on the campaign but isn't much of a fantasy asset since he plays so sparingly -- Monday marked just his second start over New York's past six contests.
