Helsley (elbow) could be cleared to resume a throwing program later this week, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Helsley was placed on the 15-day injured list this past Friday with right elbow inflammation. Imaging on the closer's elbow came back clean, and he might be ready to throw in a few days after being re-evaluated. Rico Garcia is the top candidate for saves in the Orioles bullpen while Helsely is out, though Yennier Cano, Andrew Kittredge and Anthony Nunez could also be in the mix.

Westburg has been shut down from throwing after feeling discomfort in his right elbow, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Westburg has been sidelined by a partial UCL tear in his right elbow since mid-February. He was steadily progressing through his recovery, including swinging a bat and a throwing program, but he has recently hit a setback and will be shut down until he's reevaluated by the Orioles' medical staff. Westburg is eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list in late May, but he may need a longer stint on the IL depending on how his elbow responds over the coming days.

The Orioles optioned Gibson to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Gibson made his major-league debut with a spot start Sunday against the Yankees, getting charged with three runs on four hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while notching a pair of strikeouts. The right-hander's spot on the active roster will be absorbed by Lou Trivino.

The Orioles signed Trivino to a one-year contract Monday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Trivino recently opted out of his minor-league contract with the Phillies when he didn't receive a promotion despite a 2.77 ERA and 20:4 K:BB over 13 innings at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The Orioles were willing to give him the major-league deal he sought, and Trivino will provide Baltimore with an experienced middle reliever.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Monday that Barger (ankles) being activated from the 10-day injured list on Friday would be a "worst-case scenario,"Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

Barger slugged a home run in his first rehab game with Single-A Dunedin on Sunday and will suit up for the affiliate once again Tuesday. He could rejoin the Blue Jays after that and be activated as soon as Wednesday, but a return Friday for the start of a homestand seems likelier. Barger has been sidelined since early April after spraining both of his ankles.

Massey is not in the Royals' starting lineup against the Guardians on Monday.

Massey will be on the bench for the beginning of Monday's game while Nick Loftin starts at second base and bats ninth. Massey is in the midst of a slump at the plate, having gone 1-for-20 with one steal, one RBI, two runs scored and a 2:7 BB:K over his last seven games.

Isbel is not in the Royals' starting lineup against the Guardians on Monday.

Even with right-hander Tanner Bibee taking the mound for the Guardians, the lefty-hitting Isbel will take a seat for Monday's series opener while Lane Thomas starts in center field and bats sixth. Over his last nine games, Isbel has gone 11-for-29 (.379) with one steal, one home run, two RBI and six runs scored.

Raleigh (side) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta.

Raleigh indicated Sunday that he's feeling better since experiencing right side tightness during Friday's game against the Royals, but he'll be held out of the starting nine for the third straight game while the Mariners await results of the MRI he underwent to gain more information about the severity of his injury. Mitch Garver will receive another turn behind the plate Monday, and the Mariners also recalled Jhonny Pereda from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday to provide more insurance at catcher while Raleigh remains day-to-day.

The Astros announced Monday that Meyers (oblique) has started swinging a bat and reincorporating other baseball activities, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Meyers had been shut down after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 right oblique strain over three weeks ago. He will eventually need a rehab assignment once he gets sufficiently ramped up and should be able to return from the injured list before the end of May if all goes well.

DeLauter is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Unless he's used off the bench, DeLauter will put an eight-game hitting streak on hold Monday while the Guardians go with Angel Martinez in right field and David Fry at designated hitter in the series opener in Kansas City. During the hitting streak, DeLauter has gone 15-for-27 (.556 average) with four extra-base knocks and a 4:3 BB:K, raising his season OPS 140 points in the process.
