Wilcox threw 1.1 innings and gave up one run on three hits and two walks with one strikeout Monday in the 11-4 loss to the Twins.

Wilcox has now surrendered at least one run in his last four appearances on the mound. The right-hander has been used to pitch multiple innings in five out of his nine appearances this year in more low-leverage situations.

Gimenez (undisclosed) is starting at shortstop and batting ninth Tuesday against the Red Sox.

The 27-year-old has been "banged up" and sat out the past two games but is ready to rejoin the lineup Tuesday versus Boston. Gimenez has enjoyed a hot start to the season with three homers, four steals and a .287/.313/.468 slash line in 100 plate appearances.

Pena (hamstring) began taking at-bats in live batting practice Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Pena was cleared to begin running last week, and he appears to be making strides in his recovery from a right hamstring strain now that he's received the green light to face live pitching. Manager Joe Espada added that the 28-year-old infielder is close to beginning a rehab assignment in the minor leagues, though he remains without a firm return timeline.

The A's recalled Harris from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old will get his first chance in the big leagues this season as Max Muncy (hand) lands on the injured list. Harris had a .274/.349/.342 slash line in 32 MLB games last season and isn't likely to fill a significant role while up with the Athletics.

The Athletics placed Muncy on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to a fractured fifth metacarpal in his left hand.

According to Martin Gallegos of MLB.com, Muncy sustained the injury on a hit-by-pitch April 13 against the Rangers, though the non-displaced fracture wasn't revealed until he underwent an MRI on Monday. The 23-year-old will be shut down from baseball activities for an unspecified period and is likely to be on the shelf beyond the 10-day minimum. Brett Harris was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move, but it'll likely be Darell Hernaiz that benefits most from Muncy's absence.

Teng is slated to serve as an opening pitcher in Tuesday's game in Baltimore, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Teng has recorded more than three outs in seven of 11 relief outings this season, so he could cover more than one inning Tuesday. However, he's not stretched out enough to make a typical start, so Houston will be treating Tuesday's contest as a bullpen day. Ryan Weiss is a candidate to cover multiple innings in relief once Teng exits the game.

Manager John Schneider said Springer (toe) hit and ran on the field again Tuesday and is likely to be activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Springer has been sidelined for the past two-plus weeks due to a fractured left big toe, but it appears he'll rejoin the Blue Jays on Wednesday, assuming he can avoid a last-minute setback. Prior to the injury, the veteran outfielder was in the midst of a slow start to the campaign with two homers and a .185/.290/.370 slash line in his first 14 games.

Orioles manager Craig Albernaz noted Tuesday that he's not sure when Holliday (hand) will be ready to play in games again, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Holliday has had to be pulled off a rehab assignment twice due to nagging soreness in his surgically repaired right hand. He went through a battery of tests that came back negative but is currently limited to fielding grounders. Expect the Orioles to proceed cautiously with Holliday so as to avoid another setback.

The Yankees recalled Schuemann from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Schuemann sports a .203/.362/.297 batting line with one home run, six stolen bases and a 16:16 BB:K in 23 games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. He could be sent back down later this week if Anthony Volpe (shoulder) returns from the injured list.

The Yankees placed Stanton (calf) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

The veteran slugger was diagnosed Monday with a low-grade right calf strain after undergoing an MRI, and he's now officially been moved to the IL. Jasson Dominguez was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and started as the designated hitter Monday against the Rangers, and the top prospect could get regular playing time while Stanton is on the shelf.
