Bibee (0-3) took the loss Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings as the Guardians were downed 2-0 by the Astros. He struck out three.

A two-run home run by Yordan Alvarez on Bibee's ninth pitch of the game proved to be the only offense either team would produce, but the right-hander shook it off and stuck around long enough to record his second straight quality start on 95 pitches (59 strikes). Bibee's ratios are still inflated by an eight-run disaster in Atlanta on April 12, but he's given up three runs or fewer in five of his six starts to begin the season, posting a 4.45 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 26:11 K:BB through 30.1 innings. He'll look for his first win of 2026 in his next trip to the mound, which is set to come at home early next week against the Rays.

Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Guardians.

Alvarez took Tanner Bibee deep in the first inning after a Carlos Correa double to lead off the game, and that proved to be the only offense either pitching staff would allow on the afternoon. Alvarez has quickly erased the stink of a disappointing, injury-marred 2025 season, and through his first 26 games in the current campaign, he leads the majors with 11 homers and 26 RBI to go along with a sizzling .347/.466/.779 slash line.

De Los Santos gave up a hit and a walk over 1.1 scoreless innings Wednesday to record his third save of the season in a 2-0 win over the Guardians. He struck out one.

The journeyman righty wrapped up the combined shutout on 24 pitches (16 strikes), although De Los Santos did make things interesting by putting the tying runner on base in the ninth inning with two outs. He's converted three straight save chances since April 14, emerging as the preferred closing option for manager Joe Espada while the Astros continue to navigate the absence of Josh Hader (bicep), but De Los Santos' 3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 8:3 K:BB through 9.1 innings this season don't suggest he'll have a long-term spot in the team's high-leverage crew.

Jansen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Jansen will get a routine day off after handling catching duties in the Rangers' previous two contests. Kyle Higashioka will draw the start behind the plate Wednesday.

Rosario will start at third base and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Though he'll remain in the lineup for a sixth straight game while Ryan McMahon takes a seat, Rosario has largely been the beneficiary of the Yankees facing five left-handed starters during that stretch. The 30-year-old has been productive in his part-time role this season, slashing .250/.302/.500 with three home runs, nine RBI and five runs over 53 plate appearances.

McMahon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

McMahon is on the bench for the fifth time in six games while the Yankees navigate a stretch that's been heavy on matchups with left-handed starting pitchers. Amed Rosario will get the nod at third base in McMahon's stead Wednesday while southpaw Ranger Suarez takes the hill for Boston.

Lambert (1-1) picked up the win in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over the Guardians, allowing three hits and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

The 29-year-old right-hander fanned eight batters for a second straight start since being called up to plug a hole in the Astros' injury-ravaged rotation. Lambert racked up 32 called or swinging strikes among his 96 pitches (61 total strikes) Wednesday, and the former Rockie seems to be enjoying pitching at sea level on a consistent basis. After producing a 1.84 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in 14.2 innings for Triple-A Sugar Land to begin the season, Lambert's given Houston a 3.27 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB over his first 11 big-league frames. He lines up to make his next start on the road early next week in Baltimore.

Grisham is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Grisham started in three of the Yankees' previous five matchups with lefty starters, but he'll be the odd man out of the outfield Wednesday while southpaw Ranger Suarez takes the hill for Boston. The Yankees will roll out an outfield of Randal Grichuk, Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge from left to right.

The Rangers are expected to recall Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock in the near future with Wyatt Langford (forearm) bound for the injured list, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Osuna may not arrive in time for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, so the Rangers could wait until Thursday's series finale before placing Langford on the IL and making Osuna's call-up official. The 23-year-old Osuna bats from the left side and is capable of playing all three outfield spots, but it's unclear if the Rangers intend to use him on the strong side of a platoon or strictly as a backup. Ezequiel Duran will receive the starting nod at Langford's usual spot in left field Wednesday and has gotten off to a nice start at the dish this season, posting an .800 OPS over 51 plate appearances. Osuna, meanwhile, has been a so-so performer in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League with a .262/.355/.354 slash line to go with one home run and four steals over 77 plate appearances with Round Rock.

Langford said Wednesday that he's been diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor strain following an MRI and expects to be placed on the injured list, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

The transaction may not be made official prior to Wednesday's game against the Pirates, but Langford will need to miss time after he felt his right forearm tighten up on a swing during Tuesday's 5-1 win. For his part, Langford doesn't believe the injury is too serious, and he's optimistic that he'll be able to return from the IL when first eligible May 2. Ezequiel Duran will draw the start in left field Wednesday, and he and Alejandro Osuna -- who is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move -- could end up sharing the position while Langford is on the shelf.
