Estrada (elbow) resumed playing light catch earlier this week, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Estrada's velocity had been down through his first seven appearances of the season, but it wasn't until the right-hander felt tightness in his elbow while playing catch that the Padres decided to place him on the injured list last Friday. The Padres are labeling Estrada's injury as tendinitis, and the fact that he's already been cleared to start throwing again offers hope that he'll be in line for an abbreviated stay on the shelf. Despite the early drop in velocity, Estrada was able to strike out more than a batter per inning and netted four holds prior to landing on the shelf.

Singer (1-1) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one run on six hits over six innings in a 2-1 victory over the Giants. He struck out one without walking a batter.

The right-hander needed just 75 pitches (50 strikes) to record his first quality start of the season, with his only real mistake resulting in a Willy Adames solo shot in the fifth inning. Singer has alternated decent outings with shaky ones so far, leaving him with a 5.60 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB through 17.2 innings, but there's some bad luck baked into those ratios as he has a .387 BABIP. He'll look to build on this performance in his next start, which is set to come on the road this weekend in Minnesota.

Clevinger is on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Indianapolis with an undisclosed injury, Jose Negron of DK Pittsburgh Sports reports.

Clevinger has been pitching in relief at Indianapolis, allowing five runs with a 9:5 K:BB across 8.2 innings. It's unclear how long he might be sidelined, but the 35-year-old will not be an option for the Pirates for at least the next week.

Adames went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Reds.

All the game's scoring came on solo homers, with Adames accounting for the Giants' only run when he hammered a Brady Singer sweeper over the left-field fence in the fifth inning. The shortstop has racked up five multi-hit performances over the last seven games with seven doubles and two homers among his 11 hits, but somehow he has only three RBI to show for that impressive surge as the rest of the San Francisco offense struggles around him.

Canning (Achilles) struck out four and allowed one earned run on three hits and three walks across 3.1 innings Friday while making his second rehab start at Triple-A El Paso.

Canning got stretched out to 62 pitches in Friday's outing, but he's still expected to make at least a couple more rehab starts prior to being activated from the 15-day injured list, per Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune. The 29-year-old posted a 3.77 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 16 starts with the Mets in 2025 before undergoing season-ending surgery shortly before the All-Star break to repair a ruptured left Achilles tendon. Once he's activated from the IL, Canning could be a candidate to fill a spot in a San Diego rotation that's currently missing two of its top options in Nick Pivetta (elbow) and Joe Musgrove (elbow).

Ray (2-2) took the loss Tuesday, allowing two runs on two hits and four walks over five innings as the Giants fell 2-1 to the Reds. He struck out six.

The southpaw tossed only 52 of 94 pitches for strikes, but it was his command and not his control that ended up costing him -- both Cincy runs came on solo shots by Spencer Steer in the third inning and Sal Stewart in the fourth, when Ray's pitches caught too much of the plate. He has yet to give up more than two runs in a start this season, posting a 2.42 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 24:10 K:BB through 22.1 innings, and Ray will look for more run support in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road this weekend against the Nationals.

The Padres are expected to activate Waldron (lower body) from the 15-day injured list and have him make a start during this weekend's series versus the Angels in Anaheim, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

After undergoing hemorrhoid surgery in late February, Waldron was eased along slowly in spring training and was placed on the injured list prior to Opening Day. He was cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment when Triple-A El Paso opened its season in late March, and he's looked sharp over the course of three starts with the affiliate, tossing 12 scoreless innings while allowing just seven hits and posting a 12:1 K:BB. Waldron has since rejoined the Padres and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, which likely puts him on track to start Friday's series opener. The right-hander will be joining the rotation as a replacement for Nick Pivetta (elbow) and should be in line for multiple turns with Pivetta facing an uncertain timeline for a return.

Perdomo went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Orioles.

All three knocks were singles, but the 26-year-old shortstop quickly got himself into scoring position on two of them. It was Perdomo's first multi-hit performance since Opening Day, and while he's struggling to find his 2025 form at the plate -- he carries a .190/.310/.276 slash line through 18 games with only one home run -- he is at least contributing with his legs, stealing six bags in nine attempts.

Atlanta re-signed Perez to a minor-league contract Wednesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Perez elected free agency after clearing waivers following his removal from Atlanta's 40-man roster, but he's quickly re-upped on a minor-league pact. The veteran left-hander held a 3.14 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 6:4 K:BB across 14.1 innings during his time with the big club and could re-enter the major-league rotation as soon as next week.

Sewald struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his sixth save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Orioles.

The veteran reliever needed 11 pitches (seven strikes) to convert his sixth straight save chance to begin the season. Sewald has a 2.45 ERA, 0.55 WHIP and 10:0 K:BB through 7.1 innings, and while he's been a little lucky with a .143 BABIP in the early going, his 13.5 percent swinging strike rate is also his best mark since 2023.
