Walker went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's 3-2 win over the Red Sox.

Walker continues to swing a hot bat, as he was the only Cardinals player to record multiple hits Friday. After striking out in his first at-bat, Walker singled in the third inning and singled and scored in the fifth. Walker is 10-for-25 with four home runs, nine RBI, five runs scored, one stolen base and a 2:9 K:BB in his last six games.

Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Graterol (shoulder) has begun throwing bullpen sessions, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Graterol began playing catch during the late stages of spring training, and he's now been cleared to throw off a mound for the first time since undergoing surgery on his right shoulder in November 2024. He still has several hurdles to clear before being deemed ready to make his season debut, but he's starting to make significant progress.

O'Brien picked up his fourth save Friday against the Red Sox, striking out one in a hitless and scoreless ninth inning.

O'Brien entered in the ninth with a 3-2 lead and set the Red Sox down in order on eight pitches, six of which he threw for strikes. After Ryne Stanek opened the season as St. Louis' closer, O'Brien has recorded four straight saves for the Cardinals. He's yet to allow a run and owns a perfect 8:0 K:BB across 8.1 innings.

May (1-2) earned the win Friday against the Red Sox, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks with four strikeouts across six innings.

Facing one of his former teams, May was able to get on the board with his first win as a member of the Cardinals. He flirted with trouble in the fourth inning, allowing two of the first three batters of the inning to reach on singles. Boston then pushed one run across on an error before Marcelo Mayer reached on an infield single. Trevor Story then stole home to give Boston a 2-1 lead, but May was able to stop the bleeding with an inning-ending groundout. After two ugly starts against the Rays and Tigers to open the season, May now owns a 9.45 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB across 13.1 innings. He's slated to face the Guardians at home Wednesday.

Abrams went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and a run scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Brewers.

Abrams doubled home Curtis Mead to give the Nationals a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Abrams has recorded at least one hit in 10 of 12 games he's played this season and has been particularly hot at the plate since the calendar flipped to April. In eight games this month, Abrams is 10-for-28 with four home runs, 12 RBI, seven runs scored and four stolen bases. On the season, he's slashing .311/.415/.600 across 53 trips to the plate.

Wood went 4-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Brewers.

Wood doubled off left-hander Aaron Ashby to lead off the game and then scored on a Curtis Mead single. Wood then singled in the sixth and eighth innings before driving home a run with his second double of the game in the ninth. After a slow start to the season, Wood has been one of the league's hottest hitters over the past week. He's now slashing .268/.359/.571 with five doubles, four home runs, 11 RBI, 12 runs scored, one stolen base and an 8:19 BB:K across 56 plate appearances. Wood's 33.9 percent strikeout rate is still too high, but he's doing damage when he does put the ball in play.

Irvin didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Brewers, allowing three runs on two hits and five walks with five strikeouts across five innings.

Irvin struggled badly with his command, as two of his walks came in the bottom of the first inning ahead of a three-run home run by Jake Bauers. Irvin then went on to retire 10 of the last 12 batters he faced and was able to give the Nationals five innings on 100 pitches. Irvin now owns a 7.07 ERA and 16:8 K:BB across 14 innings. He's slated to face the Pirates on the road Wednesday.

Patrick allowed three hits and a walk across three shutout innings in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Nationals.

After Aaron Ashby served as the opener Friday, throwing 44 pitches across 2.1 innings, Patrick came on with a 3-2 lead and proceeded to fire three shutout frames on 50 pitches. He didn't record a strikeout but lowered his ERA to 0.73 with a 7:5 K:BB across 12.1 innings through three appearances. Patrick is projected to make his next start Thursday against the Blue Jays, though it's unclear if the Brewers will again use an opener ahead of Patrick.

Bauers went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Nationals.

The Brewers recorded four hits as a team, so Bauers had half of those and reached base three times. After Milwaukee fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first, Bauers answered with a three-run shot in the bottom half of the inning. He later walked in the third and singled in the sixth. Bauers is slashing .225/.295/.475 with three home runs, nine RBI, eight runs scored, two stolen bases and a 4:10 BB:K across 44 plate appearances this season.

Megill (0-2) took the loss Friday against the Nationals, allowing four runs on two hits without recording an out.

With the game tied 3-3, Megill came on for the top of the ninth inning. He hit CJ Abrams with a pitch, allowed a bunt single to Joey Wiemer, surrendered an RBI single to Luis Garcia, threw the ball away on a sacrifice bunt by Jorbit Vivas and then Milwaukee was unable to get an out on a safety squeeze by Drew Millas. After five batters and nine pitches, Megill's night was over. Megill entered play Friday with a 2.25 ERA but now will take an 11.25 ERA and 5:3 K:BB across four innings into his next appearance.
