Scott (ankle) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on Friday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Scott will go through pregame work with Springfield on Thursday, and as long as he gets through it without any hiccups, he'll start his rehab assignment the next day. The speedy outfielder has been sidelined since mid-August with a sprained left ankle but should be ready to return from the injured list next week if he can avoid a setback during his rehab assignment.

Collins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the Diamondbacks.

Collins has gone just 3-for-30 at the plate since returning from paternity leave Aug. 18, so the Brewers will give him a day off to regroup. Christian Yelich will receive a rare start in left field in Collins' stead, and Jake Bauers will serve as the Brewers' designated hitter.

Frelick is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Diamondbacks.

Frelick looks to be receiving a routine day off after starting in each of the previous 10 contests. Brandon Lockridge will fill in for Frelick in right field and will bat eighth.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that Priester's next start will be pushed back to Saturday versus the Blue Jays due to a "wrist thing," Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Priester had been scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, but the Brewers have opted to give him some extra rest due to a minor injury. Aaron Ashby is serving as the Brewers' opening pitcher, and the newly signed Erick Fedde will pitch in bulk relief for the Brewers on Wednesday.

The Mets optioned Brazoban to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Earlier Wednesday, Brazoban underwent an MRI on his sore side, but with imaging coming back negative, the reliever has been optioned to the minors rather than being placed on the 15-day injured list. Kevin Herget was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to replace Brazoban on the active roster and in the bullpen.

Fedde is expected to be used in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Aaron Ashby in his Brewers debut Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Wednesday had been Quinn Priester's turn in the rotation, but the Brewers are opting to push him back at least one more day in the pitching schedule in order to clear the way for Fedde to get some extended innings after finalizing a one-year deal earlier in the day. Between stops with St. Louis and Atlanta earlier this season, Fedde has been one of the baseball's most ineffective starters, logging a 5.76 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 76:60 K:BB in 125 innings. The Brewers haven't outlined what Fedde's role might look like beyond Wednesday, but if he ends up pitching well, he could enter the conversation for additional starts or bulk-relief appearances.

Priester is no longer scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, and the Brewers have yet to announce when he'll be in line to pitch next, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Priester owns a 3.18 ERA over his seven starts since the All-Star break and isn't believed to be dealing with an injury, but he was uncharacteristically wild in his most recent outing against the Cubs last Thursday, when he lasted just 4.1 innings while issuing a season-high five walks. As a result, the Brewers may have simply opted to build in some extra rest for the right-hander, who could be available to start as soon as Thursday's series finale with Arizona. Milwaukee will turn to Aaron Ashby to serve as their opening pitcher Wednesday, and the newly signed Erick Fedde is slated to work behind him in bulk relief.

Triolo will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Triolo will occupy the leadoff spot for a second straight matchup versus a right-handed pitcher, and he's also hit leadoff each of the last two times the Pirates have gone up against a lefty. The infielder has earned a move up in the batting order by tallying five straight multi-hit games and slashing .338/.420/.506 in August.

Ashby will be used as the Brewers' opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Andrew Wagner of 105.7 The Fan Milwaukee reports.

Ashby will draw his first start of the season Wednesday, but since he'll be pitching on just one day of rest after a 1.2-inning relief appearance in Monday's series-opening win, the Brewers likely won't ask him to cover more than a frame or two. The newly signed Erick Fedde is expected to work in bulk relief behind Ashby, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.

Megill (elbow), who was placed on the 15-day injured list earlier Wednesday, said that he's been diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor tendon strain following an MRI and is hoping to be activated around when he's first eligible Sept. 9, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports. "My intentions are to be off on 15 [days], and I'm gonna do everything in my power to make that happen," Megill said.

Megill noted that his elbow felt off following his most recent appearance against the Giants on Sunday, when he needed 34 pitches to record three outs en route to suffering his third blown save in as many chances. Though elbow-related injuries are especially concerning for pitchers like Megill who are reliant on high velocity, the 31-year-old was encouraged by the results of his imaging and said that the flexor tendon strain isn't as serious as ones that he's dealt with in the past. He's hopeful that after a few days of rest, he'll be able to resume throwing again, at which point the Brewers should have a better idea whether a return in the minimum 15 days is realistic. Abner Uribe converted the Brewers' last save chance in Monday's win over the Diamondbacks and is likely to take over as Milwaukee's closer while Megill is shelved.
