Wiggins struck out two batters and allowed no hits and two walks over three scoreless innings for Double-A Knoxville in his start Sunday.

Wiggins hadn't pitched since July 19 in what appears to have been a deliberate plan on the Cubs' part to limit the 23-year-old righty's workload in his second season following 2023 Tommy John surgery. Wiggins didn't exhibit any signs of rust in his return and owns a shiny 1.93 ERA and 50:17 K:BB in 38 innings for Knoxville on the season.

The Brewers optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday.

Rodriguez was called up by Milwaukee on Wednesday and will return to Triple-A after giving up four runs over three frames out of the bullpen during Saturday's 7-1 loss to the Giants in his second MLB appearance of the season. He's now surrendered seven runs across his two long-relief outings for Milwaukee.

Monasterio will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Giants.

The 28-year-old will stay in the lineup for a third straight game after Joey Ortiz (hamstring) was placed on the injured list Friday. Monasterio is batting a respectable .257 over 80 plate appearances this season, but he doesn't bring much power or speed to the table and is unlikely to offer much fantasy value while typically slotting in near the bottom of the Milwaukee lineup.

Perkins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

The switch-hitting Perkins will head to the bench for a fourth straight matchup versus a left-handed starting pitcher (Robbie Ray). Perkins and Brandon Lockridge will continue to platoon in center field until Jackson Chourio (hamstring) is ready to return from the injured list.

Collins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Collins will get a breather after starting six straight games and going just 2-for-21 with a 4:6 BB:K. Christian Yelich typically serves as Milwaukee's designated hitter, but he'll cover left field Sunday.

Matos will start in right field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Matos will nab his fourth consecutive start after going 6-for-11 with a solo home run, two doubles, one triple, two walks, two stolen bases and two additional runs over the previous three contests. The 23-year-old appears to have overtaken Drew Gilbert as the Giants' preferred option in right field.

Gilbert is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Gilbert is absent from the lineup for the fourth time in five games and appears to have faded into a reserve role after slashing just .107/.107/.214 through his first 28 plate appearances in the majors. Luis Matos will stick in the starting nine for the fourth consecutive game and appears to have emerged as the Giants' preferred option in right field.

Koss is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

After starting nine consecutive games, Koss now finds himself on the bench for the second straight day. He'll likely be limited to a utility role with third baseman Matt Chapman (hand) getting reinstated from the injured list Saturday.

Bailey is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Bailey will receive a breather for Sunday's day game after he started the prior two contests. Andrew Knizner will handle catching duties for the Giants in the series finale.

Acosta is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

After getting called up from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Acosta proceeded to start five consecutive games across three different spots in the infield while going 2-for-15 with a pair of solo home runs and a walk. Acosta projects to fill a utility role now that starting shortstop Otto Lopez (illness) has been cleared to rejoin the lineup Sunday after sitting out the previous three contests.
