Kepler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Kepler will be held out of the starting nine for the third time in five games. Though he's improved his production in August, he's slashing just .233/.269/.397 since the All-Star break, and his underwhelming numbers are costing him playing time while Philadelphia frees up more opportunities for trade-deadline pickup Harrison Bader.

Marchan will start at catcher and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Nationals.

With top backstop J.T. Realmuto receiving a rare day off, Marchan will pick up just his 24th start of the season. He's slashing .177/.270/.241 with one home run, six runs and six RBI across 90 plate appearances in 2025.

Bell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

The switch-hitting Bell has mustered a lowly .138/.250/.276 slash line with a 23 percent strikeout rate in 100 plate appearances against southpaws this season, so his absence from the lineup with lefty Ranger Suarez on the hill for Philadelphia doesn't come as a major surprise. Andres Chaparro will replace Bell at first base and bat cleanup.

Garcia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Paul DeJong will replace the left-handed-hitting Garcia at second base while the Phillies send southpaw Ranger Suarez to the bump. Garcia started in the first two contests of the series, going 3-for-8 with a home run, a double and two RBI.

Lile is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

The left-handed-hitting Lile had started in each of the last four games, but he'll get Sunday off while the Phillies send southpaw Ranger Suarez to the hill. Robert Hassell will fill in for Lile in left field and bat eighth.

Baldwin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Baldwin started the first two games of the series, but he'll head to the bench Sunday while southpaw David Peterson takes the hill for New York. Sean Murphy will handle catching duties for Atlanta.

Marte is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Marte had served as the Mets' designated hitter in each of the last three games, but he'll cede those duties to Pete Alonso in the series finale in Atlanta. Brandon Nimmo (neck) will remain on the bench for a fourth game in a row, but assuming that Nimmo doesn't require a stint on the injured list, Marte will likely be limited to a short-side platoon role heading into the upcoming week.

Nimmo (neck) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Nimmo will miss a fourth straight start and is viewed as day-to-day while he continues to manage a stiff neck. Jeff McNeil will step in as the Mets' starting left fielder Sunday.

Torrens (hand) will start at catcher and bat eighth in Sunday's game at Atlanta.

Torrens was held out of action for the past three games while managing a sore left hand, but he's made enough progress in his recovery to re-enter the starting nine for the series finale in Atlanta. With Francisco Alvarez (thumb) on the shelf, Torrens should be in line to see the bulk of the starts behind the dish for the Mets now that he's moved past the hand issue.

Devers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Milwaukee, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Devers will get his first day off since being acquired by the Giants in mid-June, after he turned in a .227/.337/.412 slash line with 10 home runs in his first 58 games for San Francisco. Wilmer Flores will serve as the designated hitter Sunday while Dominic Smith starts at first base.
