Across nine games this month, Busch is slashing just .133/.161/.267 with a 32 percent strikeout rate.

Outside of a nice game Saturday where Busch went 2-for-5 with a double and a home run, the first baseman has gone just 2-for-25 with nine strikeouts in August. Busch's overall slash line is a much healthier .263/.348/.500, and the 27-year-old should receive ample opportunities to turn things around as Chicago's primary leadoff hitter against right-handed pitching. He has a robust .921 OPS against righties this season.

House is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Kansas City.

House was demoted to the No. 8 spot in the batting order for the previous two contests and will be out of the lineup altogether Monday. The rookie infielder is slashing only .213/.219/.246 with a 19:1 K:BB so far in the second half. Paul DeJong will hold down third base for the Nationals on Monday.

Garcia (back) will start at second base and bat eighth in Monday's game versus the Royals.

Garcia missed each of the last three contests with back tightness. However, he's feeling well enough to give it a go in Monday's series opener.

Horwitz is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Horwitz batted leadoff in each of the last four games and got on base at a .389 clip while scoring two runs and driving in two more, but the Pirates haven't yet committed to using him regularly against left-handed pitching. With southpaw Jose Quintana on the hill for Milwaukee, the left-handed-hitting Horwitz will give way to the right-handed-hitting Liover Peguero at first base.

Davis is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Davis will take a seat for the series opener in Milwaukee after he started behind the plate in three of the Pirates' four games versus the Reds this past weekend. Joey Bart will get the nod at catcher and will bat seventh Monday.

Canario will start in center field and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Brewers.

With southpaw Jose Quintana taking the hill for Milwaukee, the right-handed-hitting Canario will get the nod over the left-handed-hitting Oneil Cruz in center field. Given that Cruz is slashing just .110/.219/.190 over 114 plate appearances versus left-handed pitching for the season, Canario could end up settling in as his regular platoon partner.

Cruz is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

The left-handed-hitting Cruz will take a seat for the Pirates' second straight matchup with a lefty (Jose Quintana), as he previously exited the lineup in last Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Giants while southpaw Robbie Ray started for San Francisco. Alexander Canario will cover center field in place of Cruz, who is slashing just .110/.219/.190 over 114 plate appearances versus left-handed pitching this season.

Reds manager Terry Francona said he met with Burns on Monday to discuss how to handle workload restrictions with the pitcher down the stretch, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

What exactly those workload restrictions will look like is not clear, but with Hunter Greene (groin) rejoining the rotation Wednesday and Nick Lodolo (blister) possibly back next week, Burns could be booted from the Reds' rotation soon. The team doesn't want to completely shut Burns down, so it might have to get creative with his usage. Burns has totaled 100.1 innings this season between the majors and minors after throwing an even 100 last year at Wake Forest. The young righty's next start is tentatively lined up for Friday against the Brewers.

Stott is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.

The left-handed-hitting Stott remained in the lineup and went 2-for-4 with a pair of stolen bases and a run scored in Sunday's 4-2 win while the Rangers sent lefty Patrick Corbin to the hill, but Stott will retreat to the bench Monday as the Phillies oppose a second consecutive lefty starter (Andrew Abbott). Edmundo Sosa will cover second base in place of Stott and will bat eighth.

Cavalli is slated to start Monday's game against the Royals in Kansas City, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

The 26-year-old right-hander will make his second straight turn through the rotation after he enjoyed an impressive return to the big leagues last Wednesday in what was his first MLB appearance since Aug. 26, 2022. Cavalli took a no-decision in his start against the Athletics, striking out six batters while allowing three hits and one walk over 4.1 scoreless innings. Despite Cavalli's excellent outing, fantasy managers may want to tread carefully with the rookie in what shapes up as a two-start week, with a second start likely to come during this weekend's series against the Phillies. Before rejoining the big club last week, Cavalli had logged an unremarkable 6.09 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 65 innings at Triple-A Rochester for the season, though he had posted a 14:0 K:BB in his final two starts prior to his call-up.
