The Mets claimed Romo off waivers from the Orioles on Wednesday.
Romo has bounced around from the Rockies to the Orioles and now the Mets this month. The switch-hitting catcher is just 9-for-54 at the plate during his brief time in the majors. With Francisco Alvarez and Luis Torrens slated to open 2026 as the Mets' catching duo, Romo is likely to begin the 2026 campaign at Triple-A Syracuse.

Padres' Blake Hunt: Signs MiLB pact with Padres
The Padres signed Hunt to a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Hunt spent the 2025 season at Triple-A Tacoma in the Mariners organization, slashing .272/.368/.452 with eight home runs in 68 contests. The 27-year-old was up in the big leagues briefly with the Orioles in 2024 but is still looking to make his major-league debut. Hunt was originally selected by the Padres in the second round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft before being traded to the Rays in the Blake Snell deal.

Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Recovered from abdominal surgery
Donovan said Tuesday that he is "full go" in his offseason workouts following Oct. 7 abdominal surgery, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Donovan played through an injury to his abdominal wall for much of the second half before getting shut down late in the year and then having surgery. His offseason workouts are no longer restricted and he will arrive at spring training 100 percent. What team Donovan reports to in February remains to be seen, as he's widely expected to be traded this offseason. The Giants and Mariners reportedly are leading a pack of interested teams to land the super utility player.

Brewers' Gerson Garabito: Inks NRI deal with Brewers
Garabito signed a minor-league contract with the Brewers on Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Garabito finished the 2025 season with the Samsung Lions of the Korea Baseball Organization, holding a 2.64 ERA and 84:37 K:BB over 78.1 innings covering 15 starts. The 30-year-old has made 21 appearances (two starts) at the big-league level, producing a 5.77 ERA. Garabito is likely to begin the 2026 season in the rotation at Triple-A Nashville.

Mets' Luke Weaver: Nabs $22 million deal from Mets
The Mets signed Weaver to a two-year, $22 million contract Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Weaver becomes the second former Yankees reliever to sign with the Mets this offseason, joining closer Devin Williams. The 32-year-old Weaver struggled at times during the second half in 2025, but he finished his tenure in pinstripes with a 3.22 ERA and 191:49 K:BB across 162 regular-season innings. Weaver will help set up for Williams with the Mets.

Phillies' Brad Keller: Signs two-year deal with Phillies
The Phillies signed Keller to a two-year, $22 million contract Wednesday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Keller was a full-time reliever for the first time in 2025 with the Cubs and excelled, collecting a 2.07 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 75:22 K:BB over 69.2 regular-season innings. The Phillies intend to keep him in a bullpen role, though his past starting experience allows for the possibility that he could make some starts, if needed. Keller is in line to help set up for closer Jhoan Duran.

Braves' Aaron Schunk: Gets NRI deal from Atlanta
Schunk signed a minor-league contract with Atlanta on Tuesday, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Schunk went just 6-for-32 (.188) in the big leagues in 2025, but he slashed .291/.352/.477 over 363 plate appearances with the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate. His strong minor-league performance will grant him an opportunity to carve out a role for himself in Atlanta, though he's likely to spend the majority of 2026 in Triple-A again.

Reds' Caleb Ferguson: Nabs one-year deal from Reds
The Reds signed Ferguson to a one-year contract Tuesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Ferguson made 70 regular-season appearances in 2025 between the Pirates and Mariners, posting a 3.58 ERA and 51:22 K:BB over 65.1 innings. The southpaw held left-handed hitters to a .184/.261/.204 batting line, so Ferguson should be leaned on heavily by manager Terry Francona in 2026 when the opposition has lefties due up.

Giants' Adrian Houser: Gets $22 million pact from Giants
The Giants signed Houser to a two-year, $22 million contract with a club option for 2028 on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Houser showed more velocity and put together a bounce-back season in 2025, collecting a 3.31 ERA and 92:38 K:BB over 125 innings covering 21 starts between the White Sox and Rays. The veteran right-hander will turn 33 in February and lands in a favorable home environment in Oracle Park, but Houser's fantasy value will remain limited because of a lack of strikeouts.

Giants' Gregory Santos: Signs with Giants as NRI
Santos signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
Santos first reached the majors with the Giants in 2021 before being traded to the White Sox three years ago. The 26-year-old had a tough time with injuries the past two seasons with the Mariners, making a total of only 16 appearances due to arm and knee problems. Santos is recovered from April arthroscopic right knee surgery and has a chance to win a spot in the Giants' bullpen.
