Reds manager Terry Francona said that Lodolo (wrist) "showed up pretty good" when he reported to the ballpark Wednesday, Charlie Clifford of NBC 5 Cincinnati reports.

Lodolo was forced from Tuesday's start versus the Brewers after being struck on the left wrist by a comebacker off the bat of Jackson Chourio. However, X-rays returned negative, and Francona's words Wednesday indicate that Lodolo has minimal swelling. He'll need to get through his normal between-starts bullpen session first, but Lodolo appears on track to make his next scheduled start, which is lined up for Monday in Milwaukee.

Schwarber (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

A late scratch ahead of Tuesday's 14-9 win due to lower-back tightness, Schwarber will wind up missing out on a second straight start while he tends to the injury. With Schwarber on the bench, the Nationals will give Bryce Harper a day off from playing first base but keep his bat in the lineup at designated hitter. Schwarber doesn't appear at major risk of landing on the injured list, with interim manager Don Mattingly telling Matt Gelb of The Athletic that the 33-year-old is showing improvement and could be back in the lineup for Thursday's series finale in Washington.

Greene is slated to throw 80-to-85 pitches in his third rehab start and, if all goes well, will rejoin the Reds' rotation for his season debut late next week. The right-hander has looked sharp in his first two rehab outings, sitting in the upper-90s with his fastball while tossing eight scoreless innings with a 9:2 K:BB. Greene is coming back from surgery to remove bone chips from his right elbow.

The Nationals designated Lara for assignment Wednesday.

Lara possesses a big arm capable of regularly reaching triple digits, but he's often struggled to throw strikes. After walking 65 batters over 68.2 innings between Double- and Triple-A in 2025, he's posted a 10.13 ERA and 22:31 K:BB across 16 frames at the Double-A level in 2026. That said, Lara is just 23 years old and could draw interest via waivers because of his upside.

The Nationals claimed Lawrence off waivers from the Twins on Wednesday.

Lawrence has struck out 37 in 28 innings between stints with the Pirates and Twins this season, but he's also walked 21 and posted an 8.04 ERA. He'll aim for more consistency as he joins the Nationals bullpen.

The Phillies announced that Garcia underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair a torn right lat, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Garcia will face a 6-to-8-month recovery from surgery, which will keep him out for the remainder of the season but give him a good chance at being cleared ahead of spring training in 2027. The 33-year-old is set to become a free agent this winter after he slashed .195/.270/.329 with seven home runs, three stolen bases, 21 RBI and 21 runs over 67 games during his lone season with Philadelphia.

The Diamondbacks optioned Drake to Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.

Drake was promoted to the majors Sunday but is still looking to make his big-league debut. The 25-year-old is clearing off the active roster to make space for Mitch Bratt, who is up from Reno to start Wednesday's game in St. Louis.

Bratt is set to make his major-league debut Wednesday in St. Louis with a start against the Cardinals. The left-hander was added to the 40-man roster over the offseason and earned his first big-league promotion after posting a 2.84 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB over 44.1 innings covering 11 starts this season with Reno. Bratt recently returned from injury and threw only 48 pitches over four frames in his most recent start, so it's unlikely he'll be ready for a full allotment of pitches Wednesday.

The Diamondbacks reinstated Santana (adductor) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday and designated him for assignment.

Santana began the season in an everyday role at first base, but he produced a dreadful .083/.154/.125 slash line and struck out in eight of his 26 plate appearances over eight games before hitting the shelf April 7 due to a right adductor strain. After suffering a setback in May while out on a rehab assignment, Santana returned to action in the minors earlier this month but continued to struggle over eight games, batting .130 with a 3:7 BB:K. With Pavin Smith, LuJames Groover and Ildemaro Vargas all available on the big-league roster as options at first base, the Diamondbacks no longer had room for Santana. Assuming that the 40-year-old isn't claimed off waivers by another team, the Diamondbacks are likely to grant him his release.

The Brewers announced that Uribe has dropped his appeal of a one-game suspension and will serve the ban during Wednesday's contest in Cincinnati, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

MLB initially handed Uribe the suspension May 29, after he was deemed to have taken part in an unsportsmanlike celebration during his relief appearance against the Cardinals three days earlier. Uribe had continued to pitch for Milwaukee while appealing the ban, but after he was used in relief in four of the past five days, Wednesday marked an opportune time for him to drop the appeal. He'll be available for the Brewers following Thursday's team off day.
