Boyd (knee) is scheduled to throw off a mound Saturday and is on track for a full bullpen session next week, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Boyd underwent successful menisectomy surgery on his left knee last week, and the veteran left-hander told reporters Friday that it's "all good news" when it comes to his recovery. The recovery timeline for Boyd is six weeks, and if all goes according to plan, he will be back with the Cubs in mid-to-late June.

Woodruff (shoulder) tossed 25 pitches during a bullpen session Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Woodruff told reporters Friday that he was pleased with his bullpen session. He is scheduled to throw again Monday and is expected to work multiple innings in a simulated session. Woodruff is recovering from right shoulder inflammation that cropped up in his last start in late April against the Diamondbacks. In six starts prior to landing on the IL, he had a 2-1 record with a 3.60 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 25:7 K:BB across 30 innings.

Pena (illness) was placed on High-A Wisconsin's 7-day injured list Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Pena has been recovering from an incident in late April, when he had to go to the hospital after becoming overheated in the dugout. Per McCalvy, Pena has progressed enough in his recovery to resume baseball activities, and his move to the 7-day IL allows him to embark on a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League.

Snelling will have his left elbow evaluated further by the medical staff next week, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The 22-year-old southpaw landed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to a UCL sprain in his left elbow, just five days after making his major-league debut against the Nationals. Once Snelling undergoes more tests on his left elbow, the Marlins should have a better idea of whether the young left-hander will need to undergo surgery.

Freeman is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Angels on Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Freeman will get a rare day off, with Dalton Rushing getting the start at first base and batting eighth in Friday's series opener. Since May 1, Freeman has gone 14-for-47 (.298) with one steal, one home run, five RBI and a 6:9 BB:K.

The Brewers are giving it "a couple of days" before deciding whether Yelich (back) goes on the 10-day injured list, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The injury bug has hit Yelich, who returned from a one-month stint on the IL on Tuesday due to a left groin strain, only to be out of action again while working through back soreness. Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Thursday that the Brewers were going to decide on whether to place Yelich back on the IL, but it looks like the team will take some more time to evaluate its options. Yelich is not in Friday's lineup against the Twins but will try and take some swings before the game and over the weekend. Andrew Vaughn should see most of the playing time as the Brewers' designated hitter for as long as Yelich is sidelined.

Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said Friday that Acuna (hamstring) likely won't be activated from the 10-day injured list until he can play the outfield, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Weiss had already previously ruled out the possibility of Acuna returning this weekend. Bowman speculates that the club could be targeting May 22 -- which is the beginning of a brief three-game homestand -- for Acuna's return. The star outfielder has been sidelined since early May with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain.

The Rockies recalled Peralta from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Peralta will give the club a fresh bullpen arm after Chase Dollander's (elbow) injury-shortened start Thursday in Pittsburgh. The southpaw was up with the Rockies for a bit in April but didn't make an appearance. Peralta holds a 3.79 ERA and 14:5 K:BB over 19 innings with Albuquerque.

The Rockies recalled Thompson from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Thompson has gotten off to a scorching start at hitter-friendly Albuquerque this season, slashing .344/.491/.496 with four home runs, eight stolen bases and a 30:28 BB:K. The 24-year-old is primarily a corner outfielder but can also handle second and third base in a pinch. Thompson will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game, but his stint in the big leagues might last only until Tyler Freeman returns from paternity leave.

The Rockies placed Freeman on the paternity leave list Friday.

By rule, Freeman will be away for the next 1-to-3 games while welcoming a new child to the family. His roster spot is being absorbed by Sterlin Thompson.
