Alberto (back) is listed among the White Sox's available relievers for Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Angels, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Alberto had been expected to make his most recent spring appearance Monday against the Rockies, but he ended up being scratched after contending with back tightness. After getting a couple days off to recover, Alberto looks to have moved past the issue. A Rule 5 selection over the winter, Alberto has struck out four batters and has allowed three earned runs through five innings this spring.

Mancini (illness) played four innings at first base and went 0-for-1 at the plate Tuesday in the Angels' 10-2 win over the Padres in Cactus League play.

Mancini had been sidelined for the past four days due to an illness before returning to action Tuesday. The veteran first baseman/designated hitter is batting just .125 over 16 at-bats through nine Cactus League games and appears to be on the outside looking in for a spot on the Angels' Opening Day roster.

Selvidge recently underwent internal brace surgery on his left elbow and will miss the 2026 season, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.

Selvidge is one of the Yankees' better pitching prospects and flashed a fastball that reached 97 miles per hour earlier this spring before he suffered the elbow injury. He previously dealt with a pinched nerve in his biceps that required surgery in 2024. The 6-foot-3 southpaw turns 24 in August and logged 75 innings at Double-A last season, and he will probably return to Double-A when healthy in 2027.

The Mariners optioned Gonzalez to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Gonzalez has made four Cactus League appearances, permitting one run with a 4:1 K:BB over four innings. The 26-year-old was a waiver claim from the Mariners last August and has yet to make his major-league debut.

The Mariners optioned Castano to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Castano has yielded five runs with a 3:3 K:BB over five innings in five Cactus League outings. The 27-year-old will likely begin the season in the rotation at Triple-A Tacoma, but if he gets another shot with the big club, it could be as a reliever.

Royals manager Matt Quatraro said Wednesday that Loftin is dealing with a jammed left thumb but should return to the lineup for Thursday's Cactus League game against the Padres, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Loftin was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with the injury, but he's feeling better and is expected back in action imminently. The utility player is competing for a reserve role with the Royals and has had a nice spring, slashing .318/.423/.682.

Brash (mouth) is listed among the Mariners' available relievers for Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Rockies, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Brash will be making his first appearance of the spring after he had been delayed in his throwing progression during camp due to a tooth extraction he had a couple of weeks ago. Since Brash primarily functioned as a one-inning reliever for Seattle last season, he shouldn't require more than a handful of appearances in Cactus League games or on the back fields of Mariners camp over the next two weeks to ensure he'll be available for Opening Day.

Teel (hamstring) was removed from Team Italy's World Baseball Classic roster Wednesday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Teel injured his right hamstring while legging out a double in Team Italy's win over Team USA on Tuesday. The severity of the injury is unclear, but it's bad enough that Teel will not be available for the rest of the tournament. The White Sox should have more on Teel's status after he returns to their camp. Per Rob Bradford of WEEI.com, Mickey Gasper is expected to take Teel's spot on Team Italy's roster.

The Marlins scratched Acosta from the lineup for Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros due to left oblique discomfort, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Acosta will likely be put through further testing as the Marlins look to determine the severity of his oblique issue, but even a mild strain at this point in spring training could be enough to remove the young infielder from contention for a spot on the Opening Day roster. The 23-year-old reached the majors for the first time in 2025, slashing .204/.295/.389 with three home runs and one stolen base across 61 plate appearances with Miami.

Mazur (elbow) underwent UCL reconstruction surgery with an internal brace Wednesday and is expected to make a full recovery in 13-to-14 months, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

De Nicola reported earlier Wednesday that Mazur was ticketed for season-ending elbow surgery, but the nature of his procedure wasn't revealed until the operation was completed. Since he avoided a traditional Tommy John surgery, Mazur may be able to shave a couple of months off his recovery timeline, but he's still likely to open the 2027 season on the Marlins' injured list. Prior to undergoing surgery, Mazur was likely headed to Triple-A Jacksonville to begin the season, but the loss of the 24-year-old right-hander for the entire 2026 campaign represents a hit to the organization's rotation depth.
