Joshua Baez OF | STL
Cardinals' Joshua Baez: Optioned to Triple-A
The Cardinals optioned Baez to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.
Shortly after homering in his third straight Grapefruit League game, Baez is cut from big-league camp. The 22-year-old had a breakout 2025 season, hitting .287/.384/.500 with 20 homers and 54 stolen bases between High-A Peoria and Double-A Springfield. If Baez is able to carry over that success into a hot start in 2026, he could push for a major-league debut sooner rather than later.

Logan Henderson SP | MIL
Brewers' Logan Henderson: Battling elbow soreness
Henderson is dealing with mild right elbow soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
It's a troubling development after Henderson missed the last several weeks of the 2025 season with a flexor strain, though he reported improvement with how his elbow was feeling Monday. Henderson has made two appearances during Cactus League action, but it's not clear when he might be ready to appear in another game. The right-hander is competing for a spot in the Brewers' Opening Day rotation.

Valdez was one of eight players dismissed from big-league camp in the Pirates' latest round of roster cuts. Antwone Kelly SP | PIT
Pirates' Antwone Kelly: Bound for Triple-A
The Pirates optioned Kelly to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday.
Kelly was one of eight players dismissed from big-league camp in the Pirates' latest round of roster cuts. The Pirates added the 22-year-old right-hander to the 40-man roster in the offseason after he turned in a 3.02 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 116:33 K:BB over 107.1 innings between stops at High-A Greensboro and Double-A Altoona last season.

Thomas Harrington P | PIT
Pirates' Thomas Harrington: Headed back to Triple-A
The Pirates optioned Harrington to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday.
Harrington was one of eight players dismissed from big-league camp in the Pirates' latest round of roster cuts. The 24-year-old righty parlayed a strong showing last spring into a spot in the Pirates' season-opening rotation, but he made just one start and one extended relief appearance before he was sent back to the minors. He went on to make another long-relief appearance for Pittsburgh in early August, but he struggled across all three of his big-league outings and didn't fare much better over more extended action at Triple-A (5.34 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 96 innings). Harrington remains an interesting prospect, but he's since been passed up on the organizational depth chart by a trio of young arms (Bubba Chandler, Braxton Ashcraft and Hunter Barco) and may not be in store for another look in the big-league rotation anytime soon.

Joey Wentz SP | ATL
Braves' Joey Wentz: Out for season with torn ACL
Wentz will be sidelined for the entire 2026 season after being diagnosed Monday with a torn right ACL, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Wentz was injured on a collision near first base during Grapefruit League play Sunday versus the Rays, and an MRI has revealed bad news. It's yet another blow to the rotation depth for an Atlanta club that's already lost Spencer Schwellenbach (elbow) and Hurston Waldrep (elbow) to surgeries this spring.

Wilber Dotel SP | PIT
Pirates' Wilber Dotel: Reporting to Triple-A
The Pirates optioned Dotel to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday.
Dotel was one of eight players dismissed from big-league camp in the Pirates' latest round of roster cuts.
